A great high-rise!

1919 Market Street is a great place for single to move into. The studio apartments are small, but the location and amenities are worth it. For those who commute, the 19th Street trolley station is right in front of the building and provides quick underground access to many areas including the main Penn hospital.

Conveniently locating apartments with great amenities

1919 is a very conveniently located building with great amenities. It is definitely one of the more expensive buildings in center city but you are paying for the amenities which includes a gym, pool, work space, kitchen, etc. there is also an in-building dry clean delivery service, paid parking, and a pet groomer. The staff is very helpful and maintenance is completed on a timely basis. The location is excellent as it is within a 3-5 minute walk from Trader Joe’s, Rittenhouse Square, and Target. It also takes about 12-13 min door-to-door to HUP via Trolley or about 25-30 min walking. Overall, it’s a great place to live, especially if you’re new to Philly and don’t mind paying a slight premium for convenience, but there are cheaper options once you get to know the city.

Great place to live!

Living here has been perfect for intern year. The building is clean, the apartments are brand new, and management is really helpful. The amenities are fantastic and I absolutely love the pool. I renewed my lease and hope to live here for all of residency! The trolley is right out front and it is an easy commute to HUP. The building feels very safe. CVS is right in the building and there are tons of restaurants and shops within 5 minute walk. My only issue with the building is that the apartments are small for the price and relatively more expensive than other apartments in the area - I split rent with my significant other so it is easily doable, but might be tougher for someone living alone.

Great building, awful management

Apartment and building are great but the management team is horrendous. Front desk people are average.

Extremely Expensive... HVAC is not central air, very noisy!

HVAC unit is very noisy for the amount of rent I pay. I can hear my neighbors, and the wifi service isn't great. Unfortunately half the building has a bad view and the other half has a good view so make sure you see your place first.

The management won't adjust rent for Covid even though their amenities are shut down. I do not recommend living here overall, it's expensive, not a lot of space, and you can get better in near by buildings.

Loved the neighborhood. Paying for monthly parking in a nearby garage was not outrageously expensive, was close to center city for fun and errand-running, Target and Whole Foods nearby made for easy groceries when I didn’t want to leave the city. Sabrina’s Cafe is nearby, which is super delicious. BSL was about an 8 minute walk to either Spring Garden or Race-Vine, depending on if I was going north or south. Great area for walking around and getting out of your apartment.
The apartment is technically between Logan Square and Rittenhouse Square. We live right above Trader Joe's, which makes grocery shopping a breeze. We spend a lot of time walking around Rittenhouse Square and Rittenhouse neighborhood to pick up groceries, drink coffee, and generally hang out with each other and friends. The river walk is a short walk away, and the Museum District is within walking distance. Back when I was going to school regularly, the Septa trolley stop is conveniently right in front of our apartment and the 30th Street Station is a 10 minute walk away. While the amenities leave some things to be desired and we pay a premium for our location, it is a great place to live especially for newcomers to Philadelphia who want to be next to all the action.
Unless you mind the noise of cars in the street below, you will not have any issues. Given that is center city there are many people experiencing homelessness so if that is a deal breaker I recommend other neighborhoods. The upside is being 5-10 minutes distance from all the fun, restaurants, activities, nightlife, etc.. that you will ever need.
Super close to Whole Foods and Trader Joes, and I love the walk along the parkway. It's close to various museums which is great! Overall the neighborhood is pretty residential, but there are coffee shops and to-go restaurants that are easy to access.
The neighborhood is a little more commercial but only a minute away from everything wonderful in rittenhouse. But it feels very safe at all times because it’s on a major street.
It is a great location. The law school is a 15 minute walk. Most of Center City is also within a 20 minute radius. A lot of other law students live nearby.
Lots of great bars and restaurants in the area. One of the safest and nicest areas in Philly. There are generally lots of people walking around.
Close to tons of great places to eat/drink, shop, etc. Walking distance to anything in Center City/Callowhill/Art Museum areas.
