Safe.
I love my apartment. It is expensive, but it is a very safe and well kept place.
My apartment came with a personal garage. It is small, so I am not sure if a full sized truck would fit, but any small car is safe in there. I also have access to a 24 hour small gym and a pool. Both are well kept and easy to access. There is also a package and garbage service which is very convenient.
It is a very quiet area. It is right next to the soccer fields, so sometimes you can hear some drums or cheering, but I personally don’t mind it. It has never been loud enough to wake me. There are apartments closer to the field and so it’s probably louder over there.
I like being away from campus. It helps me get away from schoolwork and just be a person and not a student for the night. There is about a 5-10 minute walk to a bus stop for bus 62. It is on time until around 9:00am where the roads start getting congested. I just track it on my phone before starting my walk. But the bus route is very convenient to get to school. (Be warned though, bus 62 does not run on weekends.)
I HIGHLY recommend having a car if you plan on living here. While the bus can take you to school, getting anywhere else is just easier with a car.
When I invite friends over, so far we have not had issues with finding them a parking space so it’s good for hosting too! Not super convenient for friends to walk or bus over, but if they have access to a car they are set to visit.
Con: my garage door has been broken since September. (It’s December.) They took my garage door remote too. Maintenance is VERY slow. I haven’t had to put in anything other than my garage door, so I can’t talk about emergency maintenance.

Quiet and spacious
The Villas are fairly quiet, in my experience. My apartment is on the top floor, and I never hear any of my neighbors; sometimes hear some noise from out in the parking lot, but compared to other city and suburb locations where I have lived, it is very quiet here. The apartment is a bit older feeling than other modern complexes around, but very spacious. Parking is a bit annoying, sometimes I have to park a bit further away from my apartment. Of course, assigned covered spots and garages are available. The management is very friendly, communicative, and organized for anything tenant-related.
Driving to campus is going to be the most convenient option. The bus on state street is an 8-10 minute walk from the Villas, but can be unreliable. It is a bit far to walk (about 40 minutes). There are bike lanes, but it can be a bit stressful biking on the portions of Main or State Street.

Terrific Off Campus Housing
Villas at Main Street is a wonderful place to live. The community itself is excellent. It is in a great location with access to many grocery stores or anything else you need. It is also a quiet and more removed community with a more private feel. The management is very responsive and overall does a great job caring for the entire community and the needs of individual residents. It is off campus, so it requires a willingness to make a short drive in the morning or take the bus to campus, but it is perfectly reasonable. It is perfect for anyone looking for a quieter area of Ann Arbor or for a family with kids.

Great, but expensive
Great apartment complex, roomy, quiet, and safe. Very expensive though.

Extremely expensive for a bad apartment
This apartment is located a 15 minute drive (or 25 minute bus ride) away from Central Campus. The apartment is advertised as newly renovated, but they truthfully only added stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. I have had several maintenance issues that take unnecessary extended time to fix and my experience with the new property manager has been not good. I have one closet in the bedroom and one coat closet at the bottom of the stairs in my apartment. So, there is little to no storage in the kitchen or in the bathroom, but a lot of waisted space in the floorplan. All in all, I cannot wait to move out at the end of the school year. It is definitely worth it to pay just slightly more to live closer to campus in a complex that has amenities.

Great Value
I really love my apartment, it's pretty conveniently located to campus-- it takes about the same amount of time to ride my bike to Ross as it takes to take the Bus (~8'). The price of the one bedroom with the amenities it comes with I think is a great value. I'm on the third floor with really high ceilings, a fireplace, and a washer and dryer. The complex has a pool, grilling area, package storage system, and a gym.

Safe, spacious, and close to everything
The apartment has been great. Location is 10/10 for me - across from CVS/grocery store/pet store and 1 mile from the Big House. It’s not really walking distance to the law school but you can ride a bike or catch a bus pretty easily. The apartments are good for Ann Arbor and not too insanely priced, plus you get a gym membership and a pool for the very short warm months. Maintenance isn’t very attentive and there are a TON of dogs in the neighborhood, but I’d recommend Orion. Quiet neighbors as well - just make sure you live on the THIRD FLOOR if you’re a light sleeper - the floors creak. Oh also the AC is weak so in July/August you’ll need fans unless you cool the apartment to 65 before the day starts.

Great Value
I love my apartment. The building is quiet, the apartment is spacious and has great light and is well maintained. I wish there were more business school students living in my complex, but I can easily ride my bike to most points of interest in Ann Arbor, so I don't feel completely isolated.
