Sometimes ants problem bothers since it's a ground floor apartment.

Palo Verde
The place is cheap, but it hasn't been kept up well. Window sills were filthy. Linoleum and bathtub were stained with filth. Fire alarm goes off for no reason and PV maintenance can't figure it out. BUT it is also a cheap option and like anything else, you get what you pay for.

Spacious, close to campus, affordable, and social
Living in Palo Verde has its perks. I was opposed to living on campus initially, but it is so much more affordable than anything in Irvine, Newport Beach, or Costa Mesa. My apartment is extremely spacious, and has: a full kitchen; two bathrooms; a walk-in hallway closet; and lots of windows and good airflow. It's within walking distance of campus (10 minutes to law school), the gym (5 minutes), within 1.5 miles of open space hiking/running (a quick run or 20 minute walk to Bommer canyon), and a 10 minute drive from the beach. The University Town Center, which has a movie theatre, Trader Joes, and a bunch of restaurants, is a 15 minute walk or 2 minute drive away. Palo Verde also has a bunch of organic gardens, with plots (although you have to get on a waiting list for the plots). I plan on staying here throughout law school. It's also very social, as many of the law students live either in Palo Verde, or a 2 minute walk away in Verano.

Super convenient for law students - especially 1Ls
Palo Verde apartments are about 10 mins walk from the law school, which is super convenient for morning classes and when one has to stay in the library until it closes (at 11pm). The only worry I ever have when walking back in the dark is that I will encounter a rogue raccoon.

Palo Verde
Overall, a very nice place to live. There are a lot of families in the community so that is something to be aware of. My biggest complaint is the roommate matching process completed by the office, as the process is inflexible and the office will automatically assign you a roommate if you do not respond to them within 48 hours of receipt. Sometimes, such a response time is not feasible for busy students. For a couple or a family who would receive their own unit, or for people who know someone they can share an apartment with, PV is a great place to live.

Small, Expensive
I am in the new Palo Verde buildings.
It is nice to live here because it is walking distance to the Law School, the ARC, and close to Albertsons (.75 mi.)
My biggest issue is that I got stuck in an expensive apartment. I have friends paying $100-200 less than me per month for the same amenities, in both the Palo Verde and Verano graduate housing complexes. My friends who pay the same amount as me have their own bathrooms, which is a huge luxury when you get placed with roommates you do not know.
I am happy to be near campus, but that is about it.

Palo Verde
Palo Verde is ok. It is convenient and close to campus, but there are no close restaurants or bars, and the community is very family oriented.

Student Housing is OK
Can't beat this price, but the cleanliness of the apartment when I moved in was bad. Very dark and clincal atmosphere in my apartment also. Upstairs neighbor sounds like hes sumo wrestling 24/7 and people can be straight up loud every night.. Only great things are the price and proximity to the gym on campus.

Great for Students
For UCI students on a tight budget, Palo Verde is a great place. It is close to Campus. Feels Safe. Only downside is -no AC. (They do have heater). Management is good and host events regularly.
