The landlord Dave is great. He is a little eccentric but extremely nice and very responsive. For example, our washer just broke and was replaced in a days or two. He lives in the building, so often when we ask for help (e.g. fixing the leaking shower) he will be up the same day or the next day to take a look. We have a lot of space, though the floor plan is very long. The unit is very old, but things work or are fixed quickly. It was a little dirty when we came in. It is very close to CWRU (10-15 min walk), and many other medical students live in and around the unit. It is very inexpensive, and we even have an extra room (that isnt quite big enough to call a bedroom) we use for storage, and a sort of a sun room. It can be a little tricky to get the temperature right, because it is all heated with a water boiler and water that circulates throughout - but we do have control of it so we can adjust accordingly. Also pets are allowed - though you would have to okay it with Dave!

In the winter, there are only two settings for the temperature: steam sauna, or off. You also cannot control the temperature in your apartment - there is only one sensor for the entire building, and unless that sensor is in your apartment, you just have to live with whichever of the two settings the temperature comes out as.

The radiators are also extremely loud. It seems as though they save their loudest clanks for 3AM.

The landlord is not very responsive to fixing things.

Kitchen is very cramped.

The floors and the ceiling are slanted.
