Gables Montclair

I have had generally positive experiences here with my husband and our dog. Management has been attentive and they agreed to freeze our rent during COVID prior to it being a requirement by law. Have been very responsive to repair requests, etc.

Grad Student Haven

Quieter neighborhood with a mix of students, families, and even professors. Parties won't keep you up all night. Just across the street from lots of restaurants and a grocery store. MARTA and Emory shuttles a 5 minute walk away. I love my floorplan as it is a 1 bedroom + a separate office, which is perfect for having guests or working from home. High ceilings, nice finishes. Maintenance responds quickly. It would be unaffordable as a student if I did not live with my partner. The noise can be a bit loud from the street if you are facing Clairmont—I definitely could not "relax" on my balcony and mostly used it to store bikes. Not gated, but very safe—never felt afraid taking my dog out alone in the middle of the night or was worried about things left in my car.

Comfortable living with convenient location

Pros: Units are quite large, free parking, conveniently located a block from shuttle stop, close to Publix and restaurants, may receive a giftcard during move-in special, proactive about pest control spraying common areas every week
Cons: Pool and gym are lacking, package room still in early stages so may have to follow-up on packages, office takes a while to disburse move-in reward

Brice Floorplan

Gables Montclair has been a generally good experience. My only issue was problems getting maintenance in to do work. After speaking to the property manager, however, it was done the next day. I never hear my neighbors and there are a good mix of students, professors, and families. Would recommend, especially the Brice floor plan, which give you a whole separate office/ guest bedroom.

Large Rooms, Tiny Kitchen, Lots of Undergrads

Very spacious, but kitchens can feel quite tiny if living with multiple people. There is very limited cabinet/counter space. There are lots of undergraduates who often have parties. Some times that can get quite loud. The townhouses all have garages, but if you don’t park in the garage there is unassigned street parking in the complex. An Emory shuttle stop and a Publix are right around the corner (walking distance), which is helpful if you don’t have a car

One of the few managed townhome communities in Atlanta

This is one of the few managed townhome communities in Atlanta, the other being Townhouse Atlanta in Midtown. My wife and I live in a one bedroom townhome, which has a massive bedroom and bathroom, attached private one-car garage, and outdoor parking. There is a lot of storage space inside the townhouse, right behind the garage. The townhome is fairly new with tall ceilings, up-to-date appliances, well-maintained, and the complex is managed well. It is very close to both Emory and the VA.

We will miss this place a lot if we move!!!

Getting around Druid Hills

Druid Hills Reviews

Druid Hills is the home neighborhood of Emory, the CDC, and lots of other areas. It is also close to Midtown, downtown Decatur, Inman Park, etc. so a good time is never far away. Lots of restaurants and grocery stores. The university provides lots of activities. Plenty of parks and walking trails if you know where to look.
Druid hills is historic and full of parks and sidewalks. Super safe and exercise and pet friendly. Best part about where I live is the location
Safe neighborhood. Lots of Emory students live in the complex too. Close to a bike/ walking trail which is awesome
love the neighborhood. amazing parks, families, houses, lovely place to be and walk
Very convenient to restaurants, Publix, and the SAAC
Everything is drive from my complex, but plenty of establishments and sights are well within a short drive.
The Druid hills neighborhood is residential and you'll need a car or rideshare to get to most retail areas. It can be quite if you have good neighbors and is typically a safe neighborhood. Gables Rock Springs has experienced some break-ins over the past 6 months while I've been living there, but I don't know the circumstances and haven't experienced it myself.
It's a 3 minute walk from Lullwater, so the neighborhood is basically Emory's campus. Most of the people are either students or older (a lot of retired) couples.
