Safe but bugs are a problem
My experience with the staff has overall been pretty good. They're extremely responsive to emails. However, I have had several issues with the apartment itself. Given the trees/woods surrounding the apartment complex, roaches and random bugs can be a constant problem during the summer. You can see them on the sidewalk and walls almost every day. The complex is an okay place for dogs. The dog park is made of mulch so it's not the most sanitary but there is a dog park less than 5 minutes away and a walking trail about 10-15 minutes away if your dog enjoys longer nature walks. Parking can be difficult sometimes as there are no assigned parking spaces. Luckily, your guests shouldn't have an issue finding a nearby place to park but if you tend to get home after 9pm you should expect to park a little further away from your apartment. The sidewalks aren't the most well-lit but you can see your surroundings and occasionally a patrol car passes by. Some buildings are worse than others. I was fortunate enough to have very considerate neighbors in my building but I have noticed some buildings have more rowdy tenants which can be a problem if you tend to study at home. I don't have many safety concerns as everyone seems to be pretty friendly. I have had several problems with the A/C unit. Because my windows were not properly sealed water tends to leak through when it rains and air comes through making the apartment colder than necessary. This also reflects on my energy bill as my unit is working twice as hard to make up for the sketchy window installment job.
