Great New Building

The building was built within the last year and has a great view of the city/Pentagon. It's a pet friendly building with all the amenities you need. Basically, the view and amenities is what caught my attention. It's also conveniently located near the mall.

Pentagon City Reviews

General vibe is 30-somethings wanting to settle down, lots of dogs. Not a huge social scene (which I'm A-OK with).

Pros:
-Very metro-accessible (blue/yellow, so can get into the city in multiple directions if there are delays)
-Walkable - easy to get to grocery store, Pentagon City mall, library, restaurants, etc. within minutes
-Quiet and safe, and generally well-lit in the evenings

Cons:
-I'd like to see a few more restaurant options. There are good casual dining options, like Naked Pizza, California Pizza Kitchen, and the mall food court, but besides Bonefish Grill there's not much a step up from that. -I don't feel much sense of community, and don't know my neighbors. Not as diverse-seeming as other parts of DC.
This area seems to target visitors and government personnel. As such, I wish it had more of a community or culture. Crystal City (which is darn close to where we live) has a bit more of that and is within walking distance. Pentagon City does have a great shopping scene, including at least 2 grocery stores, and some pretty good restaurant options. While busy and noisy at times because of these amenities, government buildings, and the Reagan airport, our apartment complex buffers the outside pretty well. The nearby metro options and proximity to a ton of bike lanes and trails make this area very convenient to live in.
The Pentagon City area is safe, quiet (except for big shopping weekends!), and well-lit. Grocery store (Harris Teeter) and tons of other shopping options for all other needs. The metro station is convenient to all area apartment complexes. Great green space/parks across from mall with lots of walking paths. Closest churches however are on 23rd St in Crystal City -- which is not too far of a walk in good weather!
The neighborhood is great for all the shops and restaurants. I never need to leave it for the things that I need regularly. My only complaint is the lack of any character. All the shops are chains, no local restaurants. And any sort of free parking is especially hard to come by on nights and weekends. However, since I spend most of my time in DC (work and social), it's an easy place to live for commuting purposes.
I have lived in the Pentagon City area for eight years now, and I have never once felt unsafe. It is quiet on the weekends and convenient to the city.
Pros: safe, lots of retail and dining, convenient to the Metro and highways and getting into DC in general. Not necessarily the "hottest" nightlife spot, but great to be near "hot" nightlife spots but not have to deal with it on your front step.
costco right around the corner from us. 23rd st strip is interesting but not a weekend scene. currently lots of construction going on. close to pentagon city/mall
Can buy pretty much anything in this neighborhood. Blue/Yellow metro is a good choice to have. Not a very residential feel though. Tons of tourists...
