They graduate Student housing is incredibly expensive but poorly maintained. I’ve moved into a new studio where no windows lock, some open on their own, the heater can’t be set lower than 80, and there are constantly maintenance alarms going off that aren’t addressed. Despite having mailboxes and package mailboxes in the complex, you have to go to a different building to pick up any packages (including padded envelopes). Maintenance requests are rarely fulfilled, and only if you call back several times over the course of a month. Apts are poorly cleaned between users, raising the risk of fires in the oven. Walls are very thin, and the the doors don’t seal completely. Go somewhere else.

I think that Weyburn is a great option for those who are okay with a furnished apartment. The location is very convenient and all utilities are included in the rent. Parking is a bit pricey, but it also allows you to park on UCLA campus after 4pm on weekdays and anytime on the weekend. There is also a shuttle from the complex to school which runs about every ten minutes during the week. I'd say Weyburn is a 10 for convenience and an 8 for value.

The convenience of Weyburn housing is great for walking to campus everyday (bus & bike access too) and makes it easier to relocate from far away since it is refurnished. The facilities aren't the newest, but they are plenty sufficient for living and cooking. There are a lot of Anderson students in the complex and it can provide opportunities to connect with the greater graduate student community at UCLA.

The alarms went off several times during night unexpected and most probably something was wrong. Hot water issues as well in the first few months. Except for that, it was great.

Basic, old ish apartment building but at those rates and everything included. Plus bus access and many many classmates, this is an awesome place

The apartments are comfortable and everybody is a student here. The location is excellent. The only drawback is that the size of the apartment is comparatively small given the rent.

For the price and all it includes, Weyburn is a great option. It is definitely small, a little over 300 square feet, but all utilities plus cable and internet are included. The furniture is all dorm room style, which is to be expected from university housing, so that leaves something to be desired. That being said, the location is great right in the heart of Westwood with plenty of food options around, easy walk/bike ride to campus, and right down the street from Kinross Gym. Definitely recommend if you're looking for the cheapest option and don't have a huge amount of personal furniture you're bringing with you.
