Good but Downsides

Fast maintenance response. Generally clean. Nice location.
However, the faulty fire alarms are unacceptable. The fire alarm would go off (and they are indescribably loud) almost every time it rained; the worst was the 6am fire alarm during finals week. Everyone was woken up and forced to stand outside in the pouring rain for 40 mins before it was disabled and we could go back inside. This same occurrence has happened at least 6 times now. This should not still be happening.
The elevator is horrible--extremely slow and makes very loud bangs as it moves. No one takes the elevator anymore because it feels so unsafe.
There was also lots of noise from the construction this year, both early in the morning and sometimes late at night.

Feels like a dorm, but good location and adequate appliances

I don't love living in Weyburn Terrace, but it was a good first foray into living in LA. I like that it is only a 30 minute walk from campus and that it is a 2 minute walk to the Fox Theater. It's convenient that so many other law students live in Weyburn, so we can easily carpool together or having get-togethers at each other's apartments. However, university housing did not deliver on my expectation of meeting other grad students. There isn't much of a community feeling here. Instead, it feels like the quality of a dorm with the isolation of individual apartments. I would not plan to live here for more than a year, because I think there are nicer and more vibrant places to live.

UCLA Housing Management

I like my apartment, but I have a pest problem.

In addition, the UCLA Housing Management is really bad. Most of the time I do not get a response, even if I ask very simple questions. The employees seem not to care and are not well informed. Sometimes it is pretty frustrating and I don't know who I can contact anymore.

Convenient and Social for a 1L

Though I understand experiences in Weyburn vary, I have overall enjoyed living in Sycamore Terrace in Weyburn. It is the most affordable studio in the area, it is convenient for getting to school, and I enjoy having quick access to Westwood Village. I like living near other students because I got to know them on the walk and the bus. My only issues is that I have to park over a 5 minute walk from my apartment and there is constant construction in the area.

Grad student housing

Living at Weyburn was the most convenient option. It is a great location and nice that a lot of law students live there. The apartment was nice and management was very prompt if anything went wrong.

Weyburn

Cheap and adequate. Parking too expensive, and living here precludes you from purchasing an on-campus parking space.

They are good about repairs when you call and it is close to all the stores you would need and campus.

Great bang for buck!

For the space and location (relative to campus + stores/restaurants/etc), really can't beat the price. Gives you an automatic community of people and friends
