2 years in Foxhall Terrace

Foxhall Terrace is a great value as long as you know what you are asking for. It is nothing special, just a relatively clean, relatively efficient, relatively nice apartment for a good price. The building had a slight problem with insects once in two years, the management was very responsive and paid for exterminators to defeat that issue.

The only problems with the building is that you get what you pay for. The apartment has some noise issues with the windows open (primarily airplane and not overwhelming) and my apartment is tiny (~340 sq ft). The biggest issue is the distance from public transit. Uber or car is needed for almost anything. But if you are looking for safe, clean, and affordable, this meet my needs.

Best deal you'll find in Georgetown

This apartment building is minimal in amenities and glamour, but the apartments are up-to-date, and perfect for students. The landlords give good deals on rent because they specifically want to rent to graduate students. Most residents are med students at Georgetown, so the building is very very quiet. Hardest part is transportation, since there is no metro. But, a bus line is reasonably convenient, and parking is included if you have your own car. It is a one mile walk to Georgetown shops on M street.

Quiet Apartment Building Near Georgetown

I've lived alone here in a one bedroom for three years and it's been perfect as a medical student. All utilities are included except electric and cable/internet which is handled throigh Comcast exclusively. The building is full of other medical students, Georgetown hospital residents, and a few elderly adults. It's very quiet, in a very safe neighborhood, and great for studying and sleeping at night or during the day depending on your schedule. It's within walking distance of Georgetown Universty main campus, medical school, and hospital. The building managers are wonderful and very responsive to maintenance issues. They don't live in the building but are always reachable by phone or email. There is an onsite manager to handle any accidental lockouts. Parking is in a lot behind the building and there are always open spots. There is a storage locker for each apartment and coin laundry in the basement ($1.50/load wash + $1.50/load dry). Safeway and Jettie's sandwich shop are just up the street. No real bars or popular restaurants close by but Glover Park is 2 miles away and very easy to get to via bus/walking/cheap Uber or Lyft and the D6 bus can take you directly to DuPont Circle in about 15 minutes.
