Convenient but not the best quality
The convenience of the apartment is great- location is only ~12 minute walk to campus and lots of students live here or across the street. The quality of the building leaves something to be desired- sound travels within the apartment and you hear your upstairs neighbor. The train is also right outside and can be very loud depending where your unit is.

The Yard Review
Property is fine, lots of undergrads

Good amenities, great location
The gym is nice, the maintenance team is always readily available. I believe majority or residents are undergraduates, which is fine just a different dynamic for the whole building sometimes. Great location close to Ross, Main St, Munger, the IM Building, and the stadium.

Great Potential, Lackluster Management
The Yard is great if you want high-end without the high price; however, the building is more or less managed by undergrads, and it shows. The best parts of living here are the fact that a ton of other MBAs do too, so its easy for studying, get-togethers, and visits with friends. Its also great for the cold, as parking is covered (but $200 extra a month) and offers a shuttled (which has been clutch for the rainy or extra cold days). It's perfect if you're moving from far away, are cool living with roommates, and want a well-appointed apartment.

Thoughts on the Yard
August - September: Very loud, particularly on game days and thursday nights through sundays. Not so much in the winters.
Rooms: not sound proof at all. You can hear everything. Pick the room farthest from the living room if possible.
Lease: You sign a lease for 11 months but pay all 12 months (to give the appearance that your monthly rent is lower than it is). Move in date at the yard is end of August, but you pay the rent for the entire month of August.
Community: Many MBA students live here so its incredibly convenient, both for group projects as well socially. Many events, including for your section events or clubs, happen at the yard common area or the building across the street.

Good location
Located close enough to Ross, the Stadium and downtown. Nice gym and the in-unit washer dryer is super helpful

Great place, but costly
Yard is a nice place to stay with good amenities. Rent is a bit costly though.
