Needs renovations

Most apartments have had the floors refinished and new kitchen appliances installed in past couple years. Old baths have been covered.

The renovations have been done on the cheap, and it mostly shows.

Common spaces are horribly outdated.

Good location

The common areas are dated, but acceptable. Appliances/AC/faucets are regularly have issues, but the day repairman is generally responsive. Great location and I think a good value for the area. New manager is better than the previous one. Access to pool at neighboring property.

Great location and unique apartments!

After looking at what felt like hundreds of apartments in DC, I fell in love with what is now my apartment at the Newport West. The building has some unique characteristics. Many of the apartments are duplexes or have stairs in the apartment, which certainly makes each unit feel more spacious. My living room and bedroom are both a great size, and my kitchen was brand new- renovated with stainless steel appliances and new cabinets right before I moved in.

Living here is easy. There is a Whole Foods and CVS directly behind the building and all of DC's top restaurants and bars are within a few blocks. Washers and dryers are located in the basement and are card operated...no need for quarters! Also, residents have access to a rooftop pool, belonging to a sister building about a block away.

While the building doesn't have fancy amenities like a gym, or 24 hr doorman, and the lobby could use some updating...you can't beat the location or the unique apartments. I would recommend living here to a friend!

Logan Circle Reviews

Logan Circle is the perfect location! It's close to 14th St and P St and the up and coming Shaw neighborhood so you have tons of restaurants, gyms and shops in walking distance. You're also walking distance to U st, Dupont, downtown (Farragut), Metro Center and Chinatown so you are ideally located - can get to any metro line in 10-20 minutes walking.
I think this is the best location if you want to be in DC and work in McLean. Unfortunately, having to be close to the Silver line somewhat limits where you can live in DC (unless you want to transfer metro lines). While my commute could still take up to an hour, I think it is worth it because Logan Circle has so many great restaurants and bars. Also, I can very easily walk to a ton of other neighborhoods (Dupont, Shaw, etc.)
This part of town has gentrified drastically in a short amount of time. That comes with the good and the bad. There are so many developments going up that it has misplaced the communities that once lived here. However, there are still hip old tropes of those communities up and down U St and 14th St. Ethiopian dive restaurants, to great music clubs, and a safe, lively gay scene, this is a booming part of town.
Walking distance to several metro lines and going-out areas.
Logan Circle is my favorite neighborhood in DC for living and leisure. I have every type of grocery store within a 5 minute walk from my apartment, multiple gyms, and most of my favorite bars and restaurants.
Its is a fairly nice neighborhood with a lot of families. It is quiet and doesn't have almost any criminal activity. It is a great place to start a family
All you need is close by or within walking distance or a quick Uber. Good variety of restaurants and bars. Parks nearby and safe location.
Lots of restaurants, grocery stores, bars, and fun things to do. Not the cheapest place to live but a great spot to be in.
