Filed Complaints, Got Legal Threat from VP – Now in Lawsuit
This is not a complaint. This is a documented pattern.
I was a tenant at The Monroe Apartments in Austin, TX (managed by Fortis). For 3 weeks my AC did not function. They sent multiple emails claiming repairs were completed. My SimpliSafe logs prove no one ever entered.
After I filed a lawsuit and emailed management stating the truth (including reference to class action escalation), the VP sent me a cease-and-desist email 9 minutes later.
They also tried to get me to file damages through my renters insurance for an issue they caused. I reported this to the Texas Department of Insurance.
I have:
Email threads with false repair updates
Entry data from my security system
A voicemail from management admitting no resolution
Thermostat data over 80°F for 10+ days
This is fraud, misrepresentation, and retaliation.

Great Affordable Option
This apartment is at a much more affordable price than a lot of other options. Although about 15 minutes from campus, The Monroe offers all that a student might need. It is close to an HEB, food options and I-35.
