Westpark Apartments

- Great Location but TERRIBLE (unfriendly, combative, and untrustworthy management staff). Many instances of theft by maintenance staff who have access keys to our homes.
- The Management runs the place like a prison with unreasonable policies e.g. residents have requested but are denied a bulletin board in the mail room to advertise items for sale in the building!. The reason provided is that some residents posted something again management on a bulletin board 20 years ago!!!!
- Food delivery is not allowed to the apt door - If I am unwell I am still expected to go down to the lobby to pick up the food - I might as well then just go across the street - defeats the purpose!

Beautiful amenities, could be a little more affordable.

I love living in the Westpark Apartments, the staff is very friendly, and the amenities are great. I think they are a little overpriced, especially studios, and the work out room could be a little larger, with more up to date equipment. Management is great.

Do You Like Fire Alarms?

I've lived in this building for a few years. It's expensive, like all apartments in DC. Unlike other apartments in DC, you can expect the fire alarm to go off at least once every two weeks - sometimes, it will go off at 3am, sometimes in the middle of the day, and sometimes right as you're getting ready for bed. If it happens during the day, it's almost guaranteed to go off in the middle of a super important client call. If you're really lucky, the alarm will be followed up with a snarky email from the apartment association, letting you know how irresponsible you are for not evacuating for the hundredth time, but never addressing why there are so many false alarms.

Maintenance requests are handled quickly, and the management will need access to your apartment roughly once a month for pest control. The amenities are ok, but not amazing. The front desk staff ranges from super friendly to outright surly, depending on the shift. But the location can't be beat, which is really the only reason we're still here.

Nice amenities and friendly staff

Westpark has, so far, been a great place to live. We've enjoyed our newly renovated 1 bedroom apartment. It has modern features, is fairly spacious, and we love the wall to wall windows in both the den and bedroom. The amenities are nice and the staff is great!

Westpark Apartments

Good for GW students. The location is amazing, amenities are top notch, and the price, while expensive, is reasonable for DC. The surrounding area can get a bit loud, but that’s to be expected since there are lots of bars and restaurants nearby.

Westpark: Do NOT Live Here

*** DO NOT MOVE HERE ***
The building is an active, intensive construction site.
You need not take my word for it: simply ask them to forward you via email the last 30 construction notices sent out to residents so that you can understand the scope of the construction. Make sure to ask via email so that they cannot pretend that you never asked. I would be surprised if they produced the memoranda, but if they do you will have no doubt that you won't want to make your home at 2130 P Street.
The rental clause of the lease informs you that you should not expect to be able to have full use of your apartment for about 40% of the time that you are paying a full market rent: believe it. They will wave it in your face if you complain.
While many of the units have even renovated, there is intensive ongoing construction going on and even if it is not on an adjacent unit there will be loud incessant noise.
They are working on the plumbing so even if they are several floors down the pipes in your walls will vibrate.
They will turn off the water for the entire day or the entire night.
Pipes have leaked into my unit.
Management cut a huge hole in my closet to get to a leaky pipe and left it open for days.
There is construction debris and dust that will enter your apartment and permeate your clothing.
There are early, early morning false fire alarms that go on for hours.
The water coming out of the taps is putrid. The first thing I did was go out and buy bottled water.
Management of the building is duplicitous, unresponsive and unhelpful.
They will minimize the scope of the construction as you consider the apartment but once the lease is signed, they will circle the wagons and hide behind the renovations clause.
The building attendants won't even lift a finger, literally, to unlock the doors when you arrive.

Has its ups and downs

Amazing location, very nice and good price point/space/etc.
One semi-major downside is construction during bldg refurb, such as fire alarms at all hours of the night (including one that went on from 3:30-5am straight, water outages overnight and power outages overnight on occasion.
They are working on what feels like a huge overhaul of the building, so growing pains are going to happen. 95% of the time it is amazing, but the few occasions when there have been issues could be seen as a huge downside. Depends on your trade offs

Great neighborhood. Very walkable, even at night I always feel safe. Usually lots of people out and about. Young community, lots of bars and some awesome restaurants. Farmers markets and outside concerts in the warm months. Easy access to foggy bottom metro (15min walk) and dupont metro (5 min walk). Lots of green space (rock creek park). Georgetown 20 min walk with great shopping. 20 min walk to AdMo with great restaurants/bars
I love the neighborhood! Perfectly situated between Dupont Circle and Foggy Bottom. Walking distance to campus, while still being separate enough to feel independent. Tons of restaurants, bars, and stores around. The neighborhood feels very safe but is quiet and residential, too.
Dupont Circle is a great area. I like that my block feels very residential, but I'm close to convenience stores, the Metro, and only a 15-20 minute walk to the law school. Sometimes I walk over to Georgetown, which is nice.
I have never felt unsafe walking home at night from campus. The area is mostly embassies and very fancy apartments and townhouses.
could not be happier. i love having a safe space away from the law school
West End is amazing! Such great restaurants and stores around!
Amazing food and restaurants all within walking distance
Hamilton House is located in the crossings of West End, Foggy Bottom, and DuPont. It is a very clean, classy area. Super incredible how you can walk down the street to old-town DC, walk down another street and its all clubs and bars of DuPont, walk the other direction and its GW, walk another direction and its DuPont circle and all the incredible food. This is an ideal location, especially being situated right in between Foggy Bottom / GW Metro stop and the DuPont Metro stop.
