Verde Pointe

Verde Pointe is a great apartment to live in while being a law student. The apartment is small, so there is less noise. I notice the people who live there are mostly working adult couples. There are a couple of families as well, but almost no younger college students, which probably helps with the noise. Everyone is around my age (25), respectful, and friendly.

Everything about parking and the elevators is convenient. The property is clean and safe. Guests can easily find free parking on or around the property because of its location, set aside from the busy areas of Courthouse and Clarendon. There is a grocery store, pool, gym, common room with nice computers and a fireplace, and a free latte machine on-site that I use regularly on my way out to work/class.

The apartment is right off Custis trail, for those who like to walk/bike/run outside. The trial also provides quick access to the city and Rosslyn. The closest metro is the Courthouse stop, a short and safe walk the opposite direction. I regularly walk to the bars, restaurants, and stores along Wilson and Clarendon Boulevard. The apartment is off Lee Highway so there is also easy access to the highway, gas stations, and all the businesses on Lee.

Luxury Amenities & Finishes

Verde Pointe is a very luxurious complex with a vegas style rooftop pool, BBQs, large penthouse with a pool table, 70" flatscreen TV, PC and Mac, and club seating area. It is great for having guests over.

The units themselves have kitchens with double door french refrigerators, deep soaking bath tubs, gas stoves, garbage disposals in the sink, front loading washer and dryer, and huge walk in closets. There are floor to ceiling windows and balconies.

There is an organic grocery store in the complex as well. It is 2 blocks from the Arlington GUTS loop and a 10 minute walk to the metro. There is also the local Arlington Transportation (ART) right outside the apartment. Uber Pool to school is usuall $3-$4.

Arlington/Courthouse - Expensive but easy and top-of-the-line

Pricey (move-in deal for Georgetown students was enough to lessen some of the pain), but you do get what you pay for. The property website is accurate, so I won't waste time on a description. The only thing I'll say is that, though I do walk to school, it's likely to be too far away for most who don't have a car and don't want to take the GUTS bus.

Getting around Lyon Village

Lyon Village Reviews

The property is set in a residential area that is pleasant and safe. Custis trail is nearby for running, biking, and walking. It provides easy and quick access to the city and Rosslyn. I love this trail.

MOM's market is on-site. I shop there occasionally but prefer the cheaper option of Giant down the street (a short drive or walk). The metro is a short and safe 5-minute walk away. The building does sit right off Lee Highway, but I have never had any noise or other problems associated with this. I like how quickly I can pull onto the major road instead of navigating around crowded city traffic. I drive to school in under 5 minutes via Lee Highway.
When I first came to school everyone said DuPont circle was the place to live and I wanted to be in the scene with everyone. After living in Arlington, I do not regret this decision at all. Everything is so clean and classy and safe. It is really the perfect community filled with young professionals. I personally think it is a better place for networking than the city.
Average neighborhood, food scene is unexceptional. If the law school wasn't right here I wouldn't be living here. Tons of crowds and people not taking masks / social distancing / pandemic in general serious and going to bars and clubs.
Lots of restaurants to choose from in the area. Near Trader Joe’s, Giant, and Whole Foods for grocery needs. Metro transit steps away, but also a quick walk to Roslyn or Courthouse.
Great local area. Night life is okay, but very tailored to ex-frat bros. Tons of great food and an easy commute to the city.
Very walkable area, lots of restaurants, bars, and shops. Area feels safe to walk around even at night.
Metro, bars, restaurants, gyms, movie theaters, breweries, etc. all a block or two away.
Lots of bars, restaurants, shops, parks, dog park, etc.
