A room with a view

What I love so much about this apartment building is the sunrooms. A lot of people use them as extra bedrooms but we have ours as a reading nook with lots of natural light. Definitely recommend this set up if possible! Lots of young professionals in this building which can go both ways - nice to be around but a little noisy on the weekends. Very close to Rio Grande.

Adore Meridian Ballston

I love living in the Meridian at Ballston Commons. Decent neighborhood with a convenient commute into downtown that I do daily. Spacious apartments in a safe building with friendly staff and all the amenities. A little high on rent, but worth it.

Great location

Location of this apartment is amazing. It is a three minute walk to the metro! There are plenty of restaurants nearby, and a farmers market every Thursday during the summer months right outside. The amenities are nice - rooftop pool, great game room (also on the roof), and a gym.

Meridian

Close to metro. Near many restaurants. Tall building with decent views and great amenities. Overall a nice place to live. I would highly recommend living here if your job is nearby or accessible by metro. Nearby mall and Macy's for easy shopping access.

Love it!

Love it as an entry apartment for post-college age range. Cons: Street noise is really loud. Winter air travels in and summers are hot in the sun room. Pros: Free coffee mon-fri and gym is adequate. There's also a racquetball room and rooftop pool. Front desk is friendly!!

Time for some renovation!

The location-perfect. The maintenance team-so friendly. The leasing staff-needs some work. The amenities- pretty nice, the pool and gym are a plus. The kitchens, carpeting, and utilities- need a SERIOUS renovation. Not worth the $$ anymore, management team is not accommodating at all and they are at times rude to the residents.

About Ballston

Living in the suburbs and still finding a vibrant city a few blocks away is what Ballston is all about. Reach the city with great ease, and find some great restaurants such as the Tutto Bene and the Caribbean Breeze, or maybe the Taste of Arlington Annual Street Fair. If that is not appealing enough...

Getting around Ballston

Ballston Reviews

49 reviews
I enjoy my neighbors and the common crowd around this area is young professionals it seems. We are close to george mason university and marymount college, so there is sometimes a younger crowd in the area as well. We do have some houses around the area that I have seen mainly have newly established families (i.e. little kids or new to the area) and I feel safe walking around my area at night.
I personally like being in Arlington. Everything is walkable and while it's not DC proper, it's very easy to get into the city via metro or a quick drive in. I've run to Georgetown in 20-30 minutes. There's stuff to do and there's everything you could need: gyms, grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, bars so close by. Ballston is a hub for transport so buses and the metro abound.
It can be a little noisy if you're too close to Wilson, Glebe or Fairfax roads, especially if you're right above the bus stop like I am, but nothing light background noise can't drown out; I sleep with a fan and I sleep like a baby. The public transport can't be beat, and it seems like a new restaurant opens every day. I'm interested in looking at houses in the area when I can afford to buy!
Ballston is by far one of the best areas of Arlington to live in. It has tons of access to bars, food, shopping, and a social scene, without being too loud of an area.
We are right across from Ballston Quarter which has a Union Market type of food court. The area is developing so quickly, very trendy and everything is within walking distance. Even though it's very walkable it does not feel as congested as DC.
I definitely feel that it's up and coming-- so much construction and many new restaurants and shops popping up! IT's very walkable. It's also pretty safe and it's close to highways, the Potomac, to DC, etc so the location is pretty great.
I love living in Ballston. I don’t have a car and never feel like I need one. Richmond Square is a block from the metro to take me into DC, and there are plenty of places to eat and things to do right here in Ballston.
Great spot for young people. There are tons of amazing restaurants and bars nearby that you can walk to. Also only a short metro ride to DC.
