Cheap rent, huge place

So the fixtures and the plumbing are pretty old and crappy, but its 1100+ square feet for under $2k. It has a washer and drier in unit, and it has a bonus sun room (in addition to the two full bedrooms). It has unlimited free parking near every building (so you never have to worry about parking for guests), is a 10 minute walk from the mclean metro, and a 20 minute walk from MC1 and MC2. They're pet friendly (and the pet rent is only $30/month). Utilities are fairly cheap also. Our apt has a ton of natural light and overlooks a park. You're also right across the street from a grocery store.
No gym though. Walls and floors are also very thick (we never hear our neighbors).

Good Apartment

Overall, it has been a good experience. It is pretty cheap for the area (walking distance to HQ and the McLean silver line station), and it is quiet. Free parking is a plus. It is old, however, which is the downside, though it was renovated before I moved in. I moved here, rather than Arlington, because I am already from the area, and so I wanted to be close to work. I will be moving out into a newer, luxury apartment this year, though.

Good, Enjoy it

The Commons of McLean has been a good experience for my husband and I. The apartments are clean, spacious and quiet. Very close to the metro. Safe area. Shopping and restaurants nearby and Safeway grocery within walking distance. Nice pool. Ample parking. Good value compared to other apartments in the area.

Quiet and safe

Lived here for 6 months with no issues, kind of expensive for a one bedroom but the location is to blame for that. Great complex, clean, and quiet..Management is pretty responsive. I'll be staying for the long term. They have a pool but it opens this Monday so I'm not sure how that is yet.

Getting around Tysons Corner

Tysons Corner Reviews

Pretty good neighborhood.. family-oriented but enough young people nearby to be interesting. Most of the families in the area are "young" families (new parents). Short drive from Tysons Business Park, Tysons Mall, and Mosaic District, so plenty to do nearby.
It's not the city, but it's fast becoming a metropolis, with the Metro just 10 minutes away and the popular Tysons Corner Mall in reach. Schools are good, parking is still plentiful, and our particular complex is actually, actually affordable and relatively noise-free. If you pick the right side of the Rotonda to live on, you will never hear the Metro and get ample sun.
Tysons Corner is far enough away from DC to not be in the annoying bubble of people who don't own cars. It has nice wide driveable roads and retail is in huge shopping malls like God intended.
Safe, quiet, but not much going on. Most residents are 35+ years old and there are a lot of families. It's a pretty expensive area and consists of mostly office parks. Not walkable.
Close to lots of businesses, safe area, relatively quiet, walking distance to Safeway grocery story and Starbucks. Clean area. Close to various public transportation options.
I love living in Tyson's Corner. I'm close to the mall, close to work, and only a 15 minute drive to Arlington/DC (depending on traffic, of course).
The community itself is secure and close to the metro and grocery stores. All the basics are covered, with outdoor grills and a gym/pool available. The whole community is gated, so your car is separated from traffic. Location for convenient access to work is great, but there is not much to do in terms of restaurants or nightlife in Tysons.
No complaints about the neighborhood. It's right next to a gas station and a Safeway.
