Woodbury Gardens

I live at Woodbury Gardens near Michigan Stadium. I like living a bit farther away because (in general) you can get a nicer/bigger place for a cheaper price. From my experience, the customer service is better because the building managers have an incentive to provide good service to get you to renew (some other White Coat Area places just fall back on their location). The commute takes a little longer, but that hasn't been a problem for me. When the weather is warm, I can bike in to school in about 15 minutes. Ann Arbor also has an excellent bus system (free for students) and there's also the free University shuttle (which goes to Michigan Stadium, about 5 mins away from my apt.) My apartment also has its own shuttle bus that drops me off right in front of the medical school in the mornings. (Other amenities here include gym, pool, free printing in the business center, free continental breakfast on weekdays). It might not be for everyone, but I've really enjoyed living a little farther away from campus.

Good location for couples

5 minutes drive or shuttle ride to Ross. Shuttles typically run every 1-2 hours. The buses come by often as well and are free for UM students. Working partners have close access to I-94 highway to get to work if needed. Club house is nice with a small workout facility. Near newly renovated Bowling entertainment "Revel and Roll".

Overall good place to live

Woodbury Gardens is a nice place to live if you are looking for an apartment by yourself or with a family. Clubhouse (leasing office) has good amenities and the condos are well maintained (apart from the occasional maintenance required). Pedestrian path and nearby surroundings are generally well maintained. However, place is far from Business School and you'll need a car for commuting to b school at night when bus becomes infrequent. Condos are not energy efficient so you can get hefty heat bills if it gets really cold.

Spacious apartments, great amenities (swimming pool, gym, shuttle, breakfast...)

960 sq. feet, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms with 1 shared shower. The apartment is great, clean, well painted, nice carpet, and comes with washer and dryer inside. Woodbury Gardens also has a nice swimming pool (great to use in the summer) and a gym. The study rooms in the Clubhouse are great as well. Every day there's free breakfast in the clubhouse, from 7 to 9 am.
The distance from Woodbury to Ross is about 20 minutes walking, or 5 min by car. There's a shuttle that drives people to Ross almost on an hourly basis, which is great.
Overall is a great place to live, and I recommend.

Great apartments

Woodbury Gardens is the best combination of price, amenities, and location. The apartments are much larger and better appointed than those that are closer to campus. Key aspects that Woodbury is known for: in unit washer/dryer, lots of closet space, unfurnished, garbage disposal, dishwasher, central heating and A/C, free and abundant parking. Also, the cost is much more reasonable than places on campus like Landmark. The only issue is the commute to school. I personally love early morning bike rides, so Woodbury works out perfectly for me. In total, it takes about 7 minutes door to door from the Ross building.

Overall, Woodbury is clean, quiet, safe, well appointed, convenient, and affordable. Especially for bicyclists, it's the best value in Ann Arbor.

Quiet neighboorhood away from everything

Interpret the title of my review however you wish. On one hand, the neighborhood is very serene and removed from distractions, noise, etc. On the other hand, the location is rather far from the UM campus. For those without a car, there is a nearby CVS for household essentials, and Lucky's Market for groceries (though a bit on the expensive side). There is also a shuttle bus that departs 6 times a day headed towards UM central campus, and three return shuttles. The shuttle bus is very convenient, but it frequently fills to capacity, so arrive early. Otherwise, the Ann Arbor #6 bus route stops just outside of the apartment area.

It's okay

Great location and lots of space in the basement to store things. The problem is the management does not do a good job keeping residents aware of maintenance and other operations around the complex.

Quiet and spacious

My apartment is great, lots of space and very quiet location. There is a shuttle bus that drives students to and from school, which is very convenient. The gym and conference rooms at Woodbury are also very nice. Management could be better.

Getting around Yost

Woodbury Gardens is its own community - so we don't get a lot of surrounding neighborhood effect and it's quieter.

I haven't had to go to school in person yet (due to the pandemic) - but once things are back in person, I would use the community shuttle to get to campus and possibly back depending on the time of day I head back. Otherwise, I would take the bus or walk. Walking takes about 30 min but the bus will cut down most of that since there is a city stop right at the entrance to Woodbury.
This neighborhood is "undergrad territory": lots of loud parties on the weekends. BUT it'll be this loud this close to campus, no matter what neighborhood, due to proximity to the big house
Safe, albeit there have been bicycle theft issues. It is quiet here in the community. Walking distance to UM Stadium, not far from Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Plum Market, etc...
Lots of green space if you have a dog or children. Close to the stadium, about 5-10 minute drive to Ross and downtown.
Not a lot around, but there is nice space to walk, public parks, and it is fairly quiet
Quiet, good for families, far enough to not deal with UM student traffic.
This is primarily an undergrad neighborhood. There are no bars nearby, just Dominos, Subway, and other small fast food places. It is also loud and noisy especially during games. It's very close to the IM gym and law school though, which is great.
Overall, a nice and quiet neighborhood that feels secure and is slightly removed from campus, so you're away from the hustle and bustle of the University. Definitely a grad student neighborhood. Close to public transit lines, and there is a nice grocery store near the apartment complex. Running trails are nearby, and road access to I-94 is pretty quick as well. Within an extended walk of campus, the Big House, and Ross. Really enjoy living here.
