A Quiet Place

Honestly, love this place. It's in Shaker Heights right by Shaker Square (10 minute walk) where there's a CVS Pharmacy, to-go food places, grocery shopping, etc. Apartment is quiet (which I love), with a mix of students, older adults, and families. Can get a bit loud in the summer when the kids are outside playing, but honestly can't complain. Laundry on every floor with the use of a laundry card. Paid for garage parking, which is lovely for the snow time. Mail is great and haven't had anything stolen yet. Elevator works most of the time. Maintenance is pretty quick. Has central air/heat, garbage disposal, portable dishwasher. Most utilities aren't included, so you will have to pay for things like ac/heat (which is divided among all the residents according to apartment size), electricity, internet, renter's insurance, etc. No gym here. Great for students because they have a single rate deposit and don't need income or anything like that. Oh and recently started allowing small pets.

Quiet, spacious apartment with central air and indoor garage

Pros: The apartment has central air, which is pretty hard to find within this price range for a 1B1B. Carpeted except for foyer, kitchen, and bathroom. Indoor garage available at $40/mth. There is also a bus that takes you from right in front of the apartment to HEC/University circle/Shaker Square. The area is really quite. Cats (but not dogs) are allowed.

Cons: A bit far from main campus/HEC. Few study spots/restaurants within walking distance.

Shaker park east

They have big rooms with enough space to sleep and study. Also, they have air condition! In general, it’s good and i renewed my lease already.
However, the bad thing about their management is not cooperating like others. For example, the maintenance guy came to check my apartment without a previous note so had to wake up to open the door ..

Quality, Convenience, and Great Value

My experience at Shaker Park East has been absolutely great so far. My apartment is relatively new, well maintained, and has plenty of space. The building offers covered parking and central heating/AC, which is difficult to find in Cleveland. It is quite close to CCF (about a 7-10 minute commute on average) and to other east side amenities. Being on the edge of Shaker Heights, it is also a very nice neighborhood. The only real drawback I have experienced so far is that laundry (machines are in the building on each floor) is a little expensive - $2 per load for both washing and drying. Overall this is a great find, managed by a company that is great to work with.

Nice affordable and modern apartments

2 bedroom 1.5 bathroom
Rent: $839
Covered parking (!!): $40/mo
Central AC: maximum $75/mo (depends on the whole building usage)
Free water and heat
Electricity: $20-30/mo
Internet: ~$50-60/mo
Has a dishwasher and laundry rooms on each floor ($2 for each wash and dry)

I live with one other student who has a cat ($20/mo fee), so all together, my monthly rent and utilities cost is about $545 which is super cheap considering all of the nice amenities it comes with.

The location is a 10 minute walk from Shaker Square which has a Dave's grocery store, nice restaurants (like Fire, Edwin's, Zanzibar), and a coffee store (Deweys).

There's also a Zagara about 5-10 minutes drive away which is a nice place to buy groceries (higher end but cheap meat products with fresh fruits and veggies).

I can't hear people talking above or below me or in the apartments next to me really so it seems pretty well insulated.

There are 3 visitor parking spots for significant others to drive in and visit for a weekend and there's free street parking for friends to come over for a movie night.

Shaker Lakes park is also nearby and makes for a great place to go on runs if you're into running--you just leave the apartment and go.

The building is out of the way in a nice little residential street so I feel pretty safe running at night and getting in.
