Solid apartment for the price
the apartment is fine. it is a doorman building with study lounge. a lot of wharton students live there which is nice. it's very close to the 2401 building which is a plus. the apartment units can get hot due to a universal heating system. i recommend keeping ACwindows open. if you don't mind that the value isn't bad for the time you are actually there over 8 mo's. I really enjoyed being close to rittenhouse sq and in a building w other students! i have no major complaints about RW except for heat. when i looked it was one of the lowest priced studios w doorman and close proximity to center city. i was happy to spend the money i saved on rent on travel ;)

Roommates
The Riverwest is well priced and the remodeled units are nice
Riverwest is an older high rise building. The apartments are condos owned by different owners and therefore are in very different condition. Some of have been remodeled and others have not, depending on the owner. Pricing is quite reasonable. Central heating can be a problem as lower floors are sometimes chilly while top floors are very hot during the winter. I'm on the top floor and sometimes run air conditioning in the middle of winter. Not very noise proof. I often hear my neighbor's pet bird and television.
Great Location and Excellent Price
Its not the finest building. But it has two things going for it: Location and Price.
Great value and conveniently located, but nothing fancy
Great value for money. Utilities are also included. Conveniently located between Huntsman and Rittenhouse Nothing fancy - old building with slow elevator, though they are working on upgrading it

Roommates
Older building, but good location.
Washerdryer in basement. Decent-sized gym. Heating units (centrally controlled) can emit a loud clanking in the night.

Excellent place to live if you find a remodeled unit
Great deal if you can find the right condo owner, different units are owned by individuals. Units vary in remodeling. Love the location - close to bus, trolley, trader joes. Close enough to where everyone lives that it's just a short walk to parties, also a little closer to campus so easier to walk. Utilities included in rent.

Fitler Square Reviews
That being said I did notice that most students lived on the side of the school!
There are residents without housing in the neighborhood. They're good people and new residents should be respectful of them and their belongings.
Cons: Trader Joe's is the only real grocery store here and may have limited selection for those looking for a supermarket; not as quiet or "neighborhood-y" as other areas, as it is in the heart of downtown; there is a freight train that runs along the river that can be loud, though I got used to it quickly
