Pretty good, worth the price, not perfect
I like my apartment. The building is fairly well maintained and quiet. The neighborhood feels very safe and is a great place to jog. My apartment is pretty renovated with nice hardwood floors in the living room.
Highlights:
- Heated parking garage for $75 / month
- Pet friendly with no fee for emotional support animals
- Money card operated laundry machine on each floor (4 floors) of building
- Nice location with good bus options
- Maintenance responds to my requests promptly (although sometimes I have to both call and email to get in contact with them)
- 1BR unit is quite spacious
- Buzzer system at front door for guests
- LOTS of closet space
- Outer doors all lock
Downsides:
- Leasing company was hard to work with to set up a viewing before signing lease
- No working elevator: There is an elevator in the building which the leasing company told me when I signed my lease had "just broken that day" and "would be fixed in no time." After talking to other residents, the elevator has been broken for years with no signs of being fixed. Leasing company definitely lied.
- Quite hot in summer: Leasing company also said that with the windows open its very nice temperatures on the 4th floor without A/C. My 4th floor unit was around 90 degrees in the summer so I bought a window A/C unit. However, they came to install the unit for me within two days of my call to request installation, so that was good.
- Small kitchen and bathroom with very old appliances
- No in-unit laundry, no dishwasher, no microwave (I actually bought my own microwave and a small, stand-up portable dishwasher, so I think this is a manageable downside)
