Management has been helpful throughout; neighbors are noisier than I would like; close to Target for groceries etc.; about 7 minutes to Duke campus

Springfield Apartments

Good experience overall. Responsive management, ample parking, good amenities.

Location is great in terms of proximity to highways, grocery stores and the University, but the neighborhood does not provide any opportunities for recreation. No trails or parks within walking distance, difficult to walk anywhere really.

Okay, not great

I get a lot for what I pay for, but the common areas are kind of run down and trashy. It might just be the building that I am in, but a lot of people leave trash outside and don't really clean up after themselves. The management company is okay, neither good nor bad. That being said, it is hard to beat the price and most of the apartments are pretty nice.

Great Value but terrible management

This apartment complex is great value for money. $700 per month and 8 minutes drive to campus is a pretty good deal for a 1br/ba.

That said, the apartments are older and the facilities are not optimal.

Management is terrible, are mostly rude, and are poor with managing communications about when routine maintenance will be conducted in your apartment. You will enjoy your experience here if you minimize your interactions with them.

Quiet and affordable!

Moving to Durham, I did not want a roommate but I did not want to have an extravagant rent bill to pay each month. Springfield has given me a quiet and comfortable apartment without paying too much. There aren't many classmates that live in my complex, so if you want to be in more if a social complex, this won't be for you. But if you are price sensitive and want to live alone, this is a great option!
