It’s not out of this world by any stretch but does the job and is super close to grocery store, classmates, school, etc.

Ninth street is very overrated (although close to other MBAs is the pro). Maintenance is really good, it’s not actually very pet friendly, and finishing are ok. I lived in a loft which is great, but it’s hard to keep the temperature down, even in the fall because of all the sun.

You’re there to make friends and have a good time, don’t mind quality too much

I've had a good experience with building management so far, they are responsive when I've had issues. You live here for the social life, so I would recommend it even if the apartments themselves are slightly less nice than others in the area.

Decent apartment on 9th Street

Great location near ninth street as well as a 15-20 minute walk to the Duke hospital. Grocery store is literally next door. Convenient Duke bus stops nearby as well. Apartment itself is spacious with lots of light. Maintenance is very responsive and there are lots of secure entrances as well around the complex.

The apartment and community are fine. It has everything you'd need, but I definitely don't feel like I'm getting what I pay for. This may be the result of living in a college town, but my previous residence was much nicer for less money. Keep in mind that utilities will make your bill a few hundred dollars more expensive. I'd also strongly recommend touring if possible before moving in, because certain apartments may be loud due to the basketball court, swimming pool, etc. Overall it will be fine for a year, but I won't necessarily miss it when moving out.

It’s a great choice if you own a car. Residents include MBA students, undergrad students from the East campus. It’s next to Harris Teeter, and there’re a few restaurants. However, for those without a car, you might want to think twice about the ways of commuting, as taking buses may not be as convenient as living in other places.

Station Nine has been good. Walls are pretty sound proof. We live in a single bedroom loft apartment and love to tall ceilings. The location is great - very walkable to ninth street area and short drive (within 8 minutes) to almost everyone in Durham/Duke campus. The gym is good, and there are several other nice amenities.
