Close to the School

Baity is awesome. Clean, affordable, safe, laundry room is very cheap and easy to use at $1/.50 per load. There are a good number of MBAs here as well.

Most convenient for business school

Baity Hill are decent quality apartments, without any frills at a very affordable price. The short walk to school makes it absolutely the best location. Good for families, couples, and singles who don't want a daily commute to school. Max distance from any apartment to school is 8min, minimum distance is 1min.

Baity Hill is a good value

Really close to the business school, but fire alarms are prone to going off in the middle of the night.

Baity is awesome

I lived in one of the old Graduate student buildings in my first year and what a difference Baity Hill has brought! 5-10 mins walk to most classes or a casual ride on my bicycle means no rush and at least an extra hour of sleep everyday.

Baity is good value for money especially if you have a family.

Location and price make this a great choice

I love living here. It's about 8 minutes to walk to the b-school. It's not the nicest place around, and you'll probably hear your neighbors more than you like, but you'll also get to know them. This is a very social place to live, if you're the right person. I am married and have 3 kids (tight squeeze), and this place feels super safe. Low traffic, playground on site, and tons of friends to play with. Elementary school (for my oldest) is awesome. Families get preference in getting spots, with leftovers going to international students (single, roommates). Maintenance responds promptly when you have issues. You can pay rent with a credit card - I'm cashing in on the miles! No smoking allowed anywhere near the buildings (since they're on campus) and no pets allowed.
Overall, totally worth it.

Best for First Year and Exchange Students

Great place if you need to be just a short walk away from the school. Don't have to drive to school so that's a big plus and you are still on campus. Definitely recommended. Apartments are very clean and professionally managed and are great value for your money.

Getting around Baity Hill

Baity Hill Reviews

55 reviews
Baity Hill is tucked away on aside Street that comes up next to campus. The only neighborhood is the actual apartment complex which is full of International students or students with families. The normal homes nearby seem calm and safe to walk by. It's a great area being so close to campus.
They are friendly, kind so I feel safe in my apartment.
Some of them are noisy sometimes, but basically, I am not bothered so much.
Love the complex and surrounding area. Very “neighborhoody.” However, very dark at night, not many lights.
Its campus so you get all the benefits but still removed from the undergrads which is really nice.
Quiet, peaceful, easy access to campus, highway and Franklin St
It’s a cute neighborhood to walk around. Feels very safe.
Baity Hill accommodates singles, couples, and families, and the neighborhood is very diverse. There are common areas to meet within the community, and you have great access to different areas of campus. The area is very safe at all hours, with minimal noise. Grocery stores are just a couple of miles away - you can get there by driving, convenient public transit, or the UNC shuttle service.
It's very quiet: mostly graduate students and some families. Very convenient for getting to McColl. It is tucked away in the corner of campus so if you want to walk anywhere, it takes about a mile to get into campus. I would recommend having a car for this neighborhood since there are no grocery stores within walking distance.
