Perfect for a student living alone. Building is new, nice and spacious. The location is ideal for walking to and from class.

Great location and physical condition, yet expensive with poor management office
The overall location and physical condition of this apartment is great. The facilities are new and comprehensive with gym, business center, study room party room, free printing, theater, jacuzzi, etc. However, the management office is of poor quality - unprofessional, slow in response, impolite. For example, the printing is free, but the printer broke a lot and the tray always lacked paper. You need to push the management office so hard and spent so much time talking to them to get a pack of printing paper.

Apartment building is very well maintained and staff are excellent and friendly. The apartments themselves are spacious and well appointed - not luxurious, but very functional and clean. Maintenance teams seem responsive. Floor to ceiling windows are a big plus. Location is good. Would have preferred a larger and better gym, and a better equipped business center, but that is my only (minor) grouse. The sheer number of Wharton students in the building is a blessing or a curse depending on your opinion of Wharton students - you practically can’t get into the lifts without bumping into another Whartonite.

Worth the price tag
2116 Chestnut is absolutely worth the price premium. It's the nicest building in Center City and you won't regret it if you can afford it. Amazing amenities and beautiful views.

That being said I did notice that most students lived on the side of the school!
There are residents without housing in the neighborhood. They're good people and new residents should be respectful of them and their belongings.
Cons: Trader Joe's is the only real grocery store here and may have limited selection for those looking for a supermarket; not as quiet or "neighborhood-y" as other areas, as it is in the heart of downtown; there is a freight train that runs along the river that can be loud, though I got used to it quickly
