- Location is perfect
- Solid gym with free weights, 5-6 machines, 3-4 treadmills, and 3-4 ellipticals

Management not effective
Don't expect management to be communicative or let you know if elevators are down (so you have expectation of delays), etc.

Quality building and environment
The apartment are well designed, the view is great and the amenities are awesome.
The amount of other grad students in the building makes it easy to socialize.
Location is great: close to 2401, TJs and Rittenhouse.
A little pricier than average, but probably worth it!

Solid place if you don't mind paying for it. Better than the other doorman options...
Good building, great location in that it is closer to Penn than places on the other side of Rittenhouse, though it's a ~10-20 minute walk to the heart of where the action is in Center City.

Great building!
I live in a beautiful studio with tons of closet space and a full glass wall of windows overlooking the Schuylkill. The appliances are all new. The building is very responsive to maintenance requests and has bent over backwards to help me with unique requests when I've been out of town and needed help with things in the building. The concierge staff is lovely and seems to know every resident and their unit number.
The building has fabulous common space including a gym, party room, theater, and computer room with meeting rooms and a printer (very handy for students!).

Love it!
I love living here! While it is pricey, I am completely satisfied with my decision. The studios are spacious, the views are amazing, the concierge and maintenance staff are lovely, the location is optimal (right between Center City and Wharton), and you have free access to the gym, study rooms, media room, common rooms, balcony, and printing (!!). In addition, you have complete control of your thermostat, yet my utilities have been <$40. I paid extra for hardwood floors, which make the apartment even nicer. Oh, and the entire building consists of Wharton students, which makes it fun (like a college dorm). My only complaints are that some of the spaces close early, the hot tub is shut off in the winter, the washer/dryer leaves a lot to be desired, management is unsympathetic to complaints (I found it easier to deal directly with maintenance), and getting a room here was super hard (contact the building early and get on a waiting list just to keep your options open). I plan to renew my lease next year!

Awesome Building. Totally worth the money.
I would highly recommend 2116 to any incoming student. While it's a bit pricier than other housing options in the area, I think the price is totally worth the added security and convenience. There are a lot of Wharton students in the building which makes it easy to get Ubers to class in the AM.
The building is in great shape and has a very responsive management team. The studio apartments are massive and you can't beat in-unit laundry machines!
I recommend leasing early to get the best price.

Horribly Run Building
2116 Chestnut should have everything going for it. It's new, has a nice gym, and the views are spectacular (especially from the higher floors). Unfortunately, the building management is so beyond incompetent that it completely ruins the building's many perks. The elevators will be down completely at least once a week. When they're 'working', count on at least one of them being down at all times. With a building this large and full of students on relatively similar schedules, this means that the wait for the elevators can become unacceptably long.
When the elevators aren't causing problems, the fire alarms are. I lost track of the number of fire alarms that were triggered in the past year, but it was unacceptably high. Additionally, the alarms weren't able to be turned off for several hours on numerous occasions. Living on a high floor, that means that I had to choose between listening to the same recorded message and an ear piercing wail every ten seconds for >4 hours or trek down and then back up 25+ flights of stairs on a monthly (and sometimes weekly) basis. Always fun when the fire department is forced to come out, turn things off, only to have it start up again just after they've left. That happened more times than I could count. Naturally, the elevators would completely stop during fire alarms and couldn't be turned back on for hours after they had stopped. Fun times.
This building was a horrible experience. Admittedly, our view of center city was beyond spectacular, but that pro was wildly outweighed by the many cons of living in 2116 Chestnut. We were blown away by the building when we did a tour before moving to Philadelphia, but I wish we would have done more research before signing a lease. You can spend far less money and have a much better experience in nearly any other building in the area.
Don't waste your money or time, save yourself the headache, and live somewhere else. It took us a year to figure that out and hopefully we'll prevent other people from going through a similarly poor first year in Philadelphia.

Fitler Square Reviews
That being said I did notice that most students lived on the side of the school!
There are residents without housing in the neighborhood. They're good people and new residents should be respectful of them and their belongings.
Cons: Trader Joe's is the only real grocery store here and may have limited selection for those looking for a supermarket; not as quiet or "neighborhood-y" as other areas, as it is in the heart of downtown; there is a freight train that runs along the river that can be loud, though I got used to it quickly
