Super spacious, lots of sunlight, a very short walk from campus

I have loved living at the 2316 Sherman Avenue apartment. It is very spacious, with large rooms, closets and other storage spaces. Wooden floors and granite counter tops are a plus. Best of all, it's only a short 10' walk from the Global Hub and 2' from Noyes CTA station.

Super Close, Remodeled, Older building

This place is updated and very modern. It has 2 bedrooms, a living/dining, and kitchen. No elevators or parking, but street parking has never been an issue. The floors are thin so you can hear loud neighbor footsteps above you. We have a 2 year old, so our downstairs neighbor hates us. Overall, highly recommend-- but probably less stressful keeping quiet if you don't have kids!

Great aparment with reasonable rent

The apartment is brand new, has granite kitchen and bathroom, it's very spacious and full of natural light. It's VERY close to the Global Hub (Kellogg's new building) - approx. 7' walk. Kitchen includes fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher (all brand new). There are plenty of wardrobes for storage and there is extra storage space in the basement and indoor bike rack. Also, around the corner from Noyes train station and the Noyes area cafes and stores.

Awesome Vintage Condo Close to New Kellogg Building

We've been at this place for the duration of my time at Kellogg and it's been amazing. It's on the 3rd floor of a 3-story complex (2 apartments per floor), all hardwood floors, and updated kitchen appliances + washer/dryer. It's also quite spacious, especially for the price and relative to options in downtown Evanston. The owner is a great guy and very responsive to any issues (e.g., bought and installed a new washer / dryer within a week of an issue with the old units). The only drawback is distance from downtown Evanston (~15-20 min walk to Starbucks on Sherman), but it's right next to Noyes street (train station, coffee shop, lunch spots, small grocery store) and is one of the closest living options to the new Kellogg building.

Quiet and Convenient

If you are ok with living away from downtown Evanston (10-15 minute walk), this location is less than 10 minutes to Kellogg (new building will be equally close), 5-10 minutes from Northwestern's best gym/recreation facility (SPAC) and a 2 minute walk from the Noyes St. Purple Line stop. Great value compared to living in a large Evanston apt complex.

North of Campus

This location provides a great value because it is a little removed from downtown. I can walk to Jake in under 10 minutes and walk downtown in 10-15. Living a little further from downtown provides a nicer place at a cheaper price, and it's quiet. I park my car on the street for a nominal annual fee.

Northeast Evanston Reviews

Not the worst walk to class, quieter area, a little far from the grocery store. Park nearby, lots of grass for dogs, quiet neighborhood for walks/jogs.
If you're looking for a neighborhood feel, living in NE Evanston is perfect. You're just a 10-minute walk from downtown Evanston, but it's a bit quieter -- and housing prices are way more reasonable than being in a high-rise.
Good area, close to campus for walking/biking/skating (NU will not allow you to get a parking pass though b/c we're too close; parking is available after 4pm CST). Plenty of food options nearby.
Location couldn't be better. Best combination of accessibility to downtown while being a solid 10 minutes closer to the hub than most other places. An extra 20 minutes a day during those Chicago winters means a lot. You're 1 minute away from the Foster Street train stop but you'd have to make an effort to try to hear it when you're in your apartment. Our dog is scared of loud sounds and she hasn't been bothered at all.

They may bucket this as "Northeast" Evanston but if it is it's right on the line. The line is also moving North (as the hub pulls it that way). The surrounding area is nicer as well as it feels a bit more suburban than downtown does (and the houses in the surrounding streets are insanely nice), but again, you are 5-10 minutes from downtown. "Best of both worlds" sounds cliche but it's a perfect description of this place.
-Ridge road near The Reserve is a bit dark, but I have never had an issue coming home late at night.
-Close to Ingraham Park and the Golf Course where we take our dog.
-Close to undergrad houses on Foster street and further north on Ridge Ave.
-Overall good neighborhood experience.
Walkability to the Foster CTA, E2, and the Davis Street Metra is a definite plus. Subway across the street is good for being on the run, although wish there was a coffee shop a touch closer. Would definitely recommend a bike for trips to / from the new Kellogg building.
The Reserve is one of the Northern-most big apartment buildings. It’s close to campus and residential areas while still less than half a mile from the downtown area.
Just on the border of downtown Evanston and it's a great place to be. Lot's of great shops and restaurants that are all a short walk away!
