Walkability to the Foster CTA, E2, and the Davis Street Metra is a definite plus. Subway across the street is good for being on the run, although wish there was a coffee shop a touch closer. Would definitely recommend a bike for trips to / from the new Kellogg building.
The neighborhood is perfect. For Kellogg students, it's close to the Jake, relatively close to the new building, and close to all the other Evanston apartments to never be a problem meeting up with people. It's right next to the Foster St L line and a couple blocks from the Metra.
Location couldn't be better. Best combination of accessibility to downtown while being a solid 10 minutes closer to the hub than most other places. An extra 20 minutes a day during those Chicago winters means a lot. You're 1 minute away from the Foster Street train stop but you'd have to make an effort to try to hear it when you're in your apartment. Our dog is scared of loud sounds and she hasn't been bothered at all.

They may bucket this as "Northeast" Evanston but if it is it's right on the line. The line is also moving North (as the hub pulls it that way). The surrounding area is nicer as well as it feels a bit more suburban than downtown does (and the houses in the surrounding streets are insanely nice), but again, you are 5-10 minutes from downtown. "Best of both worlds" sounds cliche but it's a perfect description of this place.
A little further from downtown, but doesn't impact one's ability to go out or meet up with other friends. There are also quite a few Kellogg students who live in the Reserve.
Quieter than the downtown Evanston area or E2. Lots of families, and some Northwestern undergrads. Far north, so it's closer to the Hub than the larger buildings downtown.
Safe, walk around at night all the time as a woman without worrying about it. Evanston is boring but has everything you need (grocery, bars, enough decent restaurants).
Neighborhood is fine. Food options are limited and it's a bit of a hike from the Hub (20-25 minutes depending on how fast you walk). Would recommend a bike.
A bit far from downtown Evanston in winter, but very manageable. And living across the street from Chicken Shack is pretty great...
