2Bed 2 Bath Review
This is a great building to be in if you want to be around a lot of Kellogg students. The apartments are new and amenities are good. This is a 25 minute walk from the Global Hub but very close to the train station and the downtown shops. The apartments are all different and the room sizes can be drastically different so highly recommend getting a tour of the actual unit you are signing a lease for. The building management is never on site but maintenance needs are fixed promptly. The walls are extremely thin and based on the room heating/air conditioning is uneven. This apartment is better priced than other popular apartment buildings.

Centrum
Smaller roof space. But in apartment amenities nice. Washer dryer in unit great. Overall nice space.

Overall very good experience!
We have loved living at Centrum so far. Definitely on the high range of prices for Evanston, but also worth it. The gym and rooftop are amazing. Be sure you are comfortable with train noise though. Only downside is parking. There is no in-site parking. For an additional $100/month you get your own covered parking spot near Chilli's (5-6 minute walk, which could be painful during very cold days).

Great Community with Poor Management and Weird Layout
Overall I love the apartment especially the location and the community. The amenities (roof, gym, study rooms) are amazing. The layout in the 2 bedroom unit has amazing sunlight and great bathroom amenities. However it is a little funky because 1) the smaller bedroom doesn't have room for a dresser, 2) the kitchen has very limited drawers and counter space, and 3) the recycling is inconvenient to locate. I don't have a car but there isn't any parking. Generally the maintenance is responsive.

Over Rated
For the price point I don't think Centrum merits its place as the second most popular rental building. The units are nice but not well laid out. Amenities are marginal and found elsewhere.
Great location by the El if/when going downtown becomes a part of life.

Centrum review
great place to live but tough if you have a car - the garage is not near the building (have to walk outside 5 minute)

Definitely the right decision
Apart from some very small quirks (lack of overhead lights in bedrooms, translucent shades) I’m absolutely glad I chose centrum over E2. A ton of Kellogg friends still live here, it’s fun, the elevators actually work, don’t have to interact with a doorman to pick up packages or leave my apt to let someone into the building, ceilings and walls are concrete so very quiet for sleeping, very nice fixtures, appliances and amenities, and most important, next door to all the shopping and bars. And the gym is actually useful, good amount of space, machines and weights. The roof deck is amazing in the warmer months, very relaxed about large groups.
