Convenient for School

The apartment is extremely small, but all I really need is a kitchen and bedroom. And I like that we live across from the school. However, maintenance is lacking, we don't have parking, and we have to share a small laundry room with the whole building.

Would highly recommend to any GW med student

Every apartment unit is very different in terms of layout, size, price, etc. so there is a lot of variability in terms of experiences. My studio apartment is very spacious, and it's really nice being a 1-minute walking distance to the med school and metro stop, which makes the rest of the city available to go to. Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are also both very close which is a huge plus.

Good

Because the building is run by a condominium association, any repairs beyond simple homeowner fixes will need to go through your landlord. Great location for DC but can occasionally be loud because it's next to the hospital

Jefferson House

Jefferson House is perfect for someone that wants to be close to school- It takes 90 seconds to get to campus, but foggy bottom isn't the most fun area to live. It's close enough to Dupont though which has a more fun social life. There is no in-unit washer dryer, but the laundry room works good enough. I have occasional pest problems, but nothing that would discourage me from living here in the future and management does a good job with pest control. Apartments are individually owned by separate landlords, so all apartments will be slightly different. There is a pool, but it is not super fancy.

Great Unit, Ok Building

The unit itself is beautiful and I imagine that others in the building look similar. I have huge floor to ceiling windows that bring me tons of sunlight. My studio is also much more spacious than other buildings and my kitchen is in a separate room. The building itself is only ok. It is old and they are behind on painting the walls but the lobby looks nice when you walk in. The front desk staff are very friendly and they are there very late (perhaps even 24/7). There is also laundry in the building but it is not in unit. The building is super close to the Foggy Bottom Metro stop and is around a 10 min walk to the law school.

Not too shabby

This apartment is super close to campus and is a great deal for what you're paying. The appliances are really old and the building is pretty beat down but you're getting what you pay for.

Lots of pretty row homes, walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, and my school. Lots of trees and a dog park near-by. Overall, very pretty and scenic to walk through, and also close to other neighborhoods and essential stores.
I like living in Foggy, it's easy to get to school but also is close to Georgetown, which is fun for food and shopping. The northern part of Foggy (near GW) is about 10 minute walk to Dupont too, which is great.
Short walk to Georgetown, West End, and Dupont Circle. Many restaurants nearby and close to metro so you can get to anywhere in the city conveniently.
Nice to be so close to school. Short walk from the mall and other tourist destinations. Bar/restaurant/night life scene leaves a lot to be desired.
It is really close to campus so a lot of GW folks live here! You can reach a lot of places on public transit.
Edge of Foggy Bottom bordering Georgetown - very safe and peaceful!
I personally enjoy the quietness of the neighborhood and its location within a close walking distance of campus, Georgetown, the water, and convenience/grocery stores. The neighborhood is also very safe, I am a woman in my early 20's and I have never felt unsafe walking home late at night near my apartment.
Foggy Bottom is a great place to live given the proximity to the law school. It's also within walking distance of Georgetown and Dupont Circle which are fun places to go out with friends and classmates. It's also has lots of bike racks for the Capital Bikeshare nearby, and the Foggy Bottom metro stop is a few blocks up the street.
