Great Location and Closet Space

My apartment is really great, especially for the price. The biggest positive of all is how close it is to school, which I think is the most important thing as a MS1. Being close to school helps me manage my time much better, and have a bit more free time since I cut out the commute.

The apartment is technically a studio, but the kitchen feels like its in its own room and I can't see it when I am sleeping. The studio is pretty big and I have been able to separate the areas into a distinct dining area, living room, and bedroom. On top of it all, I have a really big walking closet and many other medical students live in the same building.

The major downside of my apartment is that it doesn't really have a view, although it does have a pretty big window that takes up an entire wall. All I see from my apartment is the courtyard. That doesn't matter much though because as a medical student, I personally spend most of my time at school, coffee shops, or sometimes out with friends. The most I do at my apartment is sleep there and sometimes host a movie night.

Good place to live, close to campus

I have had a good experience living at the Claridge House. Some of the apartments are older than others, but they all seem to be well maintained. Maintenance is extremely responsive to issues and the building manager is communicative and friendly. Everyone who works at the front desk is helpful and friendly as well.

Great

Lives here for more than two months. My landlord is super responsive and helps deal with the not-so-responsive building technicians regarding repair issues. Close to Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods is on the way to law school. Generally quiet and clean.

Claridge House

So far, so good! I have not had any problems with pests and the only issues I have had in the apartment (e.g. bathroom sink leaking) were fixed ASAP and haven't recurred. There are huge windows, which I enjoy for all the sunlight, the walls seem to be thick enough, and you have control of your own AC/heat.

The amenities are great. I love having the pool and gym on site. Packages are also safe, being delivered directly to the front desk.

It's also a great spot if you're attending GW SMHS or you're working at the hospital. It's only about a 5-7 min walk.

My only complaints: there are a TON of mosquitoes right outside the front door of the building, and the garage is a tight squeeze if you plan to pay for parking here.

Also: Note that each unit is individually owned, so your experience will also depend on your landlord and the specific changes they've made within their own units.

Great location, nice place, decent rent

It has been great because I like the unit and it is very easy to get to class. It's clean and nice and updated and has a patio and pool. The gym is small and not very new but it's fine.

Lots of pretty row homes, walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, and my school. Lots of trees and a dog park near-by. Overall, very pretty and scenic to walk through, and also close to other neighborhoods and essential stores.
I like living in Foggy, it's easy to get to school but also is close to Georgetown, which is fun for food and shopping. The northern part of Foggy (near GW) is about 10 minute walk to Dupont too, which is great.
Short walk to Georgetown, West End, and Dupont Circle. Many restaurants nearby and close to metro so you can get to anywhere in the city conveniently.
Nice to be so close to school. Short walk from the mall and other tourist destinations. Bar/restaurant/night life scene leaves a lot to be desired.
It is really close to campus so a lot of GW folks live here! You can reach a lot of places on public transit.
Edge of Foggy Bottom bordering Georgetown - very safe and peaceful!
I personally enjoy the quietness of the neighborhood and its location within a close walking distance of campus, Georgetown, the water, and convenience/grocery stores. The neighborhood is also very safe, I am a woman in my early 20's and I have never felt unsafe walking home late at night near my apartment.
Foggy Bottom is a great place to live given the proximity to the law school. It's also within walking distance of Georgetown and Dupont Circle which are fun places to go out with friends and classmates. It's also has lots of bike racks for the Capital Bikeshare nearby, and the Foggy Bottom metro stop is a few blocks up the street.
