You live well, but there are better options.

We live comfortably, and it’s close to work (Arlington), but it’s not very modern and a bit expensive for a one-bedroom. We have a baby, and since we’re on the second floor without an elevator, going up and down with a stroller is a bit challenging. They’ve had to renovate several things while we’ve been here because the building is old and needs quite a bit of maintenance. However, it is safe and quiet.

Close but expensive

The location is great, but the price has risen $400 in 2 years. You can smell what others are cooking. You can hear the footsteps upstairs. There's been construction going for the last 12 months without compensation. There's been several inspectors who've come out to assess the property and stated that people should not be living here. Avoid.

Columbia Pike Reviews

Alcova heights, sort of suburban very quiet and very safe but walking distance to stores and restaurants.
Nice and diverse neighborhood. Up and coming. Safe and convenient. Lots of options for food and drinks. Close proximity to DC and Tyson's Corner. Lots of new construction.
I love Columbia pike. It is affordable to live here.
Close to many grocery stores, convenient stores and many restaurants. Very quick to Pentagon City metro station or Clareden metro station
The neighborhood is very family friendly. I can walk, bike, or bus easily to the metro/Pentagon City mall or bus/bike to the law school. Walking distance to fair assortment of restaurants, grocery store, pharmacy, etc. on Columbia Pike. Neighborhood is dotted with parks, tennis courts, short bike path, and other recreation.
Absolutely lovely place to live. Lots of food options in a highly diverse neighborhood.
Been built up a lot in the last few years with a Harris Teeter in walking distance. Lots of metro bus lines right outside the door with a shuttle to the metro
More working class up and down the pike, no bars or anything of that sort. But close enough to Ballston and Shirlington.
