Relatively New - Awesome!

AMLI 300 is a relatively new building in a great downtown location, with easy access to the campus shuttle (Metro 663) routes and is walkable to West 6th bars/restaurants. Typically the building rates are among the cheapest in the downtown area, with good reason. Units facing the South side of the building are ~10 ft from busy train tracks and it is extremely loud at all hours, so shop for North or interior facing units where the train noises will be muted (they are typically several $100 more expensive per month). The apartment management and building itself are both mediocre, get what you pay for sort of thing.

Awesome but can be noisy

Excelent place to live in downtown. Train noise might bother you, though.

Can't Beat this Location

Across from Whole Foods, down the street from Trader Joes, walkable from the West 6th Street Bar District, and nearby a bus stop to campus.

Amli 300 for MBA's

The Amli 300 is a great place to live for 2 years. To start with the bad though... it is an inexpensive downtown apartment and feels like it. Everything from the materials used to construct it to the staff running it is clearly budget. Now for the good. .. it is a stones throw from the lady bird lake jogging trail, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, a bus route to campus and W. 6th bars. I would recommend it to any budget minded student looking to live downtown.

No frills, good location, bad neighbors

The apartment is spacious and well lit, but hasty construction (like most buildings in this area). The pool and gym are tiny but if you don’t care about fancy amenities it’s fine. The location is fantastic, right by great shops, restaurants, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s, easy to walk to West 6th and other downtown areas, but it’s also right next to the train track so if you aren’t a heavy sleeper you will be miserable. The other residents tend to treat the building poorly, as there was been a consistent issue of pet waste in the stairwells, but maybe that’s a few bad apples causing a big problem. There are new people in charge of the office and they’re way better than the previous bunch so that helps.

Nicely Renovated

The AMLI300 does have nice and renovated apartments. However, the management is very unpleasant to deal with if anything goes wrong. Also, if you live on the side with the train, it will take a few months to get used to the noise. The pool and gym are very average. It is very close to a bus stop which has been convenient.

great location, average facilities

Great location in terms of proximity to downtown and bus lines. Facilities, ie. build quality, gym, etc. are average. Leasing office is generally helpful.

Good Value, Not the Fanciest

The building is a little older and not as nice as some of the newer buildings. The noise from the nearby Amtrak and traffic on Lamar can be VERY loud. The space you get seems to be a good value for the rent. The gym was recently painted, but only has some minimal weight equipment, 2 treadmills, and 2 elliptical machines. It could use a workout bike. I haven't had a chance to use the pool yet, but it seems like the courtyard doesn't get direct sunlight for most of the day.

Love, love, love.

I absolutely love living at the AMLI 300. The train can be bothersome at times, but overall it's a great property with great amenities. You are definitely paying the right amount for what you get, which is a lot. Love the gym and how often improvements are made to the complex. I'm one happy resident.

Old West Austin Reviews

Safe during the day- just be watchful and don't be out alone at night because it's downtown. The huge plus is that the bus for Rowling is RIGHT BY the apartment. HUGE plus.
It's nice to be able to walk to Whole Foods and Trader Joes for groceries. There are a lot of salons and boutique type stores in walking distance. The one downside is that there is no drug store (CVS or Walgreens) in walking distance.
Lady Bird Lake is amazing and about 200 ft. away. The W 6th bar and restaurant scene is great. Bike trails are easily accessible. Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and a bus stop are all within a block.
I love living in Clarksville! It's close enough to Lamar to still enjoy the benefits of living in downtown Austin, but it's quieter and safer. There are great restaurants and bars nearby and plenty of nice coffee shops to study at.
I love that it's walking distance to Trader Joes, Whole Foods, Corepower Yoga, and 6th street.
Great access to campus metro and <10 minute walk to bars and restaurants on West 6th.
Super convenient commute but not as charming as East Austin neighborhood, for instance.
relatively quiet but close to everything, restaurants, bars, downtown, campus. i love it.
