Bristol West End

Super close to campus which is awesome. Almost 1/3 of our class lives here so there's always friends nearby to visit with or see in the hallways. Has a gym and a pool. Apartments are really big and have great appliances and layouts.

Super close to Vanderbilt, very nice apartment. Lots of closet space, beautiful bathrooms. Functional gym, pool but nothing to write home about. Landlord is nitpicky about dumb rules and regulations and is not particularly responsive. Decent amount of on-street parking.

Ideal for med students as at least 15+ from each class live here. Easily walk to campus but also shuttle service if the weather is a problem

The apartments are comfortable and the HOA is proactive and ready to help. There is a nice (4 ft deep) pool downstairs, a public lounge, and a little gym (with some weights, treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes). There are 2 parking garages (although it cost me extra for a parking spot)-- however, I believe you can also park outside on the street for free. A large number of people from each class year end up living here (about 15 people in Class of 2023). One of the best parts is the fact that it's only a 10-15 min walk away from campus and has a free Vanderbilt bus that stops right outside that runs frequent hours on weekdays. It's also located on West End, so there are some restaurants/grocery stores within 5 minute walking distance (ex. Walgreen's, Panera, Chipotle, Starbucks). The only downside is that rent is a bit high. Pets are allowed but there's no yard for them or anything like that (not sure about pet fees).

Bristol is known as the "med school dorm" and I love hanging out with classmates here. The short walking distance from campus is great, and on rainy or cold days I use the VUMC shuttle bus.

I've enjoyed living here. The units are high quality and the property is well maintained. It is a quiet population, mostly medical students and young hospital professionals. The HOA can be a bit intense, and with cameras everywhere it can feel like you're living under a microscope sometimes. Other than that, it's a great location. Easy 15-20min walk to Owen, and a reasonable walk or short Uber to midtown/downtown.

Close to Vanderbilt, clean, quiet, and safe. A nice mix of grad students, young professionals, and families. Across the street from a VUMC parking lot, so there are frequent shuttles to the medical campus. 1 block to Vanderbilt's rec center and stadium, also has its own fitness center and pool. Nearby fast casual restaurants include Taziki's, Chipotle, and Panera, nearby coffee shops include Starbucks and Three Brothers, all within a 3 minute walk.

I only lived at Bristol for a year because of the price but it was a great experience overall — easy access to the leasing manager, reliable maintenance and concierge services for the occasional quick fixes and lock-outs, and above all safe/secure/a short 15-minute walk (less than a mile) to campus!

Very convenient, great building

I’ve loved living in Bristol. It’s so close to campus: only a 10-15 minute walk! It’s also very close to the Vanderbilt gym. Bristol itself has a nice lounge that’s great for studying in, a small gym, and a pool that you can swim laps in.
