Great Complex

I’ve had a great experience at the Morgan. Apartments and facilities are great. Excellent complex if you are a dog owner.

Love The Morgan!

My husband and I love living at The Morgan. Coming from a house before moving to Chapel Hill, we were shocked by how spacious and quiet our unit is. The amenities offered are great, and all of our interactions with Morgan staff (front office, maintenance, etc.) have been fantastic!

The Morgan as a couple with 2 dogs

Pros: The Morgan has overall been a good experience for us so far. The property is well kept and maintained, it has great amenities including a large gym, and the rent prices were reasonable compared to some other similar properties. The complex is located just east of campus, so getting to and from takes about 10 mins depending on traffic. Many students tend to live here, so there's also great opportunities for casual social gatherings. The complex is very dog friendly and there is a great sidewalk system connecting to adjacent neighborhoods for exercise.

Cons: Walls/ceilings are unfortunately pretty thin. If you live in a second floor apartment like us, you can definitely hear footsteps in the unit above. The Morgan is also not the newest apartment complex, so depending on the unit there could be more wear/tear than other brand new complexes. In the Reserve, some light fixtures/design choices feel a bit dated.

Overall, a good complex to live at for graduate school.

Great living experience!

The Morgan is a great place to live while in MBA School. Typically, a good group of MBA students live at the Morgan (or the Morgan Reserve), making it a fun place for social events. It is close to school and downtown, but also feels like you get a "break" from Chapel Hill. If you want a place that is in the center of it all, don't choose the Morgan. The maintenance staff and leasing office are fabulous and very responsive.

The Morgan Review

Living at the Morgan has been exactly what I expected. A nice, quiet community with a great presence of MBA students. A few issues with bugs, but otherwise an enjoyable experience with lots of friends close by.

Love the Morgan! Highly recommend it.

I love the Morgan community. I live in the Morgan Reserve which has more updated apartments and shares amenities with the regular Morgan. A lot of MBA and other graduate students live here, which makes it really fun and keeps you from being lonely if you live alone like I do. We love having get togethers and pool parties! And you can always find someone to help with something around your apartment, jump your car if it dies, etc. and people are constantly driving to and from school, so car pools are and option if you don’t have a car.

I'm sure late fall and winter will be great, but do not live on the ground floor

The location is fantastic, the number of students here is great, but in reality you are not going to be hanging out with them as much as you expect.

Also, I know this as I am on the ground floor- you might think I'm saying not to live on the ground floor because of safety but no, it's because of cockroaches. I had to have the apartment management spray my apartment multiple times, I've had to lay out traps and find other methods to get rid of them. I would be afraid to keep my feet on the ground out of fear that one was going to crawl over my foot. Now, they are not completely gone but at least they are dead by the time I get home.

Also, the bathtub is stained and the oven has this white fuzz on it that I haven't been able to get cleaned yet.

Easy place to be for MBAs

I love The Morgan. The rent isn't too bad, they allow pets, there's ample parking, a gym, a pool, and maintenance takes care of issues quickly. Many of your classmates are around, and overall the property is nice. A couple gripes: Some of the units could be a bit more updated, and there are some spots in the parking lot you need to watch out for. Other than that, it's a very good apartment complex. It's very quiet as there are no undergrads, so maybe not where you want to be if you don't have a car or really want to live downtown. Nice short commute to school.
