No Regrets

Great management, lots of space, and for a great price. Perfect spot for law students.

Par

Ivy Gardens is par for the course. Mediocre facilities, mediocre rooms, and average prices. The proximity to the law school makes walking easy. I recommend it overall.

Ivy is Pretty Good

Ivy's pretty good. It's notably further away from the law school than other locations, which is less than ideal, but it's *much* cheaper than Pav, so much so that the distance is largely irrelevant -- you could get a decent bike with what you'd save on a single month's rent. The gym is fine, though small -- it was great to have when the school gyms required masking. Apartments are big and comfortable, though kitchen facilities are pretty old and the floors are unfortunately carpeted. Management is responsive but generally stays out of the way. One issue is that the area is far less walkable than it looks on a map because of a narrow underpass that is concerning to drive under and downright dangerous to walk through, so it's not a place I'd advise to live without a car.

Ivy Garden

It's very nice! Little expensive for cville, but proximity to the Law School and Darden can't be beat. Management and noise are much better than Pav.

Overall Great Experience

Overall, I have had a wonderful experience at Ivy! While the buildings are older, maintenance is very responsive and helpful whenever there are issues, including after-hours. The only downsides other than how old the buildings are: (1) the pet policy is not enforced; (2) the walls are thin; and (3) there is no mechanism besides contacting local police to deal with noise complaints.

All Around a Pleasant Place to Live

I have plenty of space to walk my dog around the compound and at the Miller Center next door. It is fairly quiet, but you can hear loud vehicles when they rev their engines climbing the hill on the road outside the complex. My main complaint is that there's almost no overhead light in the main room and you can't easily fill the space with lamps.

Ivy Garden Review

Ivy is a great place to live. It is overall cheaper, has more space, and is more secure than other options in the same area. Management is helpful and is quick to help fix anything (last time I called maintenance they got here in about 12 hours- and I called on a Sunday) The only real complaint I have would be that the walls are very thin, so if you are a light sleeper you may have to invest in some good ear plugs.

Not sure

No major complaints--the management is great and we are fortunate enough to have a renovated unit. We found the layout to be a little strange initially, but we've made it work. The only downside is that carpet, so if that's a pet-peeve, this isn't the spot for you.

10/10 Recommend Ivy Garden

Ivy Garden is a great location that is close to the school and isn't terribly expensive like Pav is. I know friends who lived in both and said that Pav felt like they were away on a business trip while Ivy feels like their actual home. One downside about Ivy is that it only has one entrance and there is a very narrow pass-through under a bridge to get there. Management is great though, and the area feels very safe.
