Great place but no buses
Our apartment experience has been great! It is new and modern, with a neighborhood shopping center within walking distance. The community amenities are also really great. Our favorite part is the rural feel, even though we are 10min from town. Lots of families live here and in the surrounding neighborhood, so it is really low-key.

Great place to stay, but not on the bus line
Beautiful place to stay in a great quiet area with 12min access to b school. Our only issue during move in was maintenance, but that was due to a transition period. The only possible con, particularly for international students, is that this property is not on the bus line. Otherwise, this is not a well-known property among MBA students, so we are the only MBAs at this complex.
As far as shopping nearby, this is a master-planned community with a Food Lion and other restaurants within walking distance. Walmart, Harris Teeter, and other places are within 10min drive, and 15-501 and Southpoint are 15-20min away. However, it would feel rural for a significant other without a car. But this would be a great place for families.
Please note it is in Chatham County though! Just barely.
