Clean and Roomy

The property itself is very clean and has a nice gym and pool. There is a convenience store and a dry cleaners in the same building. The apartment is very pet friendly, there are people walking dogs around the outside of the building all the time. The apartments are nice and you can tell the managers do a lot of up keep on them. Depending on what floor you are on and which direction you face, there are great views of Georgetown, Washington Monument, and the Capitol. The bedrooms, closets, and bathrooms are huge, but this takes space away from the common area. The kitchen is somewhat small and lacks storage space. The living room are is a good size, but you need to be strategic about furniture placement. There is in-house washer and dryer which is nice. Your internet options are limited.

Avalon Courthouse Place

Awesome location right behind the Court House metro station, with 6 minute access to DC (Foggy Bottom). Amenities in the building are great. Management has always been responsive for me. Only complaint is the high rent, but cost of living in the area is high in general... that said, the amount of space you get here is larger compared to most places in the DC metro area.

Courthouse Place

It is a great apartment, one that you would be very happy living in. It is near many restaurants, bars, the movies and the metro. The staff is very nice. The only issue is the fact that it is very expensive, even for it's location. If you can get a good deal, it can't be beat.

Great apartment at the Courthouse Metro

Avalon Courthouse Place is a great apartment building. One of the highlights for me, since I commute into the city, is that it is located only one block from the Courthouse metro station. The apartment itself is great, I love the amenities in the building (I have used the gym and pool regularly), and the service from the management is always quick and professional. The building is a bit homogeneous in terms of residents, as is the neighborhood, which is definitely something to consider. There are grocery stores, bars, and shopping nearby, and the Arlington farmers market is right across the street every Saturday. In general, as long as we remain content living across the river from the city, we love our apartment!

Quiet and family oriented

Great location for people looking to be close to the city but still with a suburbs feel. Walking distance to Clarendon, very dog friendly, and family oriented area. Not much excitement, but a great area for couples or families. Management is friendly and sound proofing between apartments is excellent.

Great location

Small and cozy but in a great location: Great proximity to grocery stores, shopping, and restaurants. Great for younger people and those individuals looking for networking with other like-minded career focused individuals. Avalon Courthouse apartments are also in a really great location that is close to Tyson's and DC. The building is also close to three metro stops!

Avalon Courthouse is Expensive, yet Worth the Money

Nestled right next to the Court House metro stop, Avalon is a great, clean space that caters to animal owners, young professionals and those seeking communities both in and out of the building. Though on the more expensive side (utilities not included, 90$ for parking spots), the space itself is beautifully clean, both in amenities and apartments. The gym is fully equipped (spread across two rooms!) and the patio/pool area is well staffed and maintained throughout the warm seasons. Staff attitudes vary, but are overall helpful and cater to the safety and efficiency of the building.

AVALON C

I’m a current graduate student at GW and I love living at the Avalon Courthouse. The location is great / close proximity to school. Management is pretty responsive, available. I’ve had several leaks in my apartment due to rain and management and maintenance mostly have been really responsive and solution oriented.

Good value for the neighborhood

The Avalon in Courthouse is one of the cheaper options in the area, however, it may be one of the nicest buildings as well. The amenities are plentiful and well kept, and the management is polite and helpful. A great place for young families or recent graduates, the Avalon is quiet enough that you can sleep, but active enough so you won't be bored. Just steps away from the Courthouse Metro, and a few minutes away from Clarendon, the location is perfect. Commuting is easy for Metro riders and drivers, since 50 is close, and 66 is a 5 minute drive away. All in all the building is a good deal for all it offers.

Great location!

Avalon Courthouse Place is situated right on the Courthouse metro and just a 5 min walk from Whole foods, and a 10 minute walk from TJ's. Everything I need is in this residential area. It is very pet friendly and the neighborhood is great for families.

Getting around Clarendon

Clarendon Reviews

This is a safe and exciting neighborhood to live in.
Clarendon is the most similar to D.C. as far as an Arlington neighborhood goes. There are tons of bars, restaurants, gyms/yoga studios, grocery stores. Walking around, you will see tons of young professionals/graduate students. It's really clean and quiet. It's on the silver/orange metro line so you can really get anywhere. It's super closer to major highways/the airport, so if you have a car, there is not a single place that's too far away.
Clarendon is a lovely neighborhood with so much to offer. Many young families and young professionals, but also many loud, young college/ post college partiers. Area can be loud at times. Many great restaurants , walking distance to anything you need. Expensive rent but close to metro/ busses
Lyon village is a great place to live because it it really close to Clarendon with all of the night life and restaurants, but you don't have to deal with all the people and noise. It is very safe - as a female I never feel insecure when walking around at night alone.
The neighborhood has a very busy nightlife. It has several bars and lounges in the area, as well as a great selection of late-night eateries. During the day time, the area is very peaceful. Great places for brunch, shopping, and groceries.
Clarendon is a great neighborhood with lots of young adults. There are some good restaurants and it is a quick metro ride into the city. It is a little quieter than living in the city, but you still get a little bit of a city feel.
So much to do, so many restaurants, so many bars, great shopping, many cafes, four grocery stores within walking distance! Lots to do, but also quiet and has nice suburban feel. Can't say enough great things!
This is the place to be if you are a young professional in the DC area. The prices are way more affordable than DC and you have so much more space! There is always something fun to do and new people to meet!
