Great place to live on a budget!

While the units themselves are not completely renovated and modern, the facility is clean, well kept and is in an amazing location. The pool area is especially wonderful in the summer time with a great grill area. We are a newly engaged couple starting out on a budget, so this is the perfect starter home.

Avalon Courthouse is a super easy first place

I know there are better deals out there, but you can't go wrong with the Avalon Courthouse. It is a super social building with lots of people from Capital One. Really convenient to get to work or to DC. Walking distance to Whole Foods, CVS, and Trader Joes. I think I am planning to move into a house with friend's next year, but if I decide to stay in an apartment there is a good chance that I stay in the Avalon next year.

Love Avalon Courthouse

Love living here, especially the amenities like the pool and the gym. The apartment is great, even though it's not the most updated in terms of appliances, etc. Management is very responsive and gets to know you very quickly. Always feels very secure as well.

Good Overall

Overall, Avalon is a great! The location is perfect, right near the Courthouse Metro stop and several restaurants/bars/coffee shops, and the building is just a hop and a skip to the city. The concierge is very friendly and visiting friends and family do not have any issues with entering in the building. With that being said, the building is secure and I feel safe.

Great Community

Love living here, close to the metro, great amenities!

We have had a couple leaks because of water heater issues, but that seems to be resolved now because they are putting new heaters in every building.

Dog friendly, family friendly, overall a really nice place to live

Amazing place for people who like the "suburbs"

Only two stops away from GW Law's campus, Avalon Courthouse is located a perfect distance to separate school and home life. Because it's in Virginia, the space you get for the price is much better than in DC plus added amenities including a business center with free printing, a pool, gym, and package service. Only downside is that it does take a while to get to other neighborhoods in DC.

Everything you need, and great location

Avalon is located just a block away from the Metro stop, and is a really nice location, being just minutes away from the popular Clarendon area, and also a quick Metro ride away from DC. Trader Joe's and Safeway are nice 10 min walks away, and the management does a great job of making sure that everything is taken care of promptly.

Getting around Clarendon

Clarendon Reviews

This is a safe and exciting neighborhood to live in.
Clarendon is the most similar to D.C. as far as an Arlington neighborhood goes. There are tons of bars, restaurants, gyms/yoga studios, grocery stores. Walking around, you will see tons of young professionals/graduate students. It's really clean and quiet. It's on the silver/orange metro line so you can really get anywhere. It's super closer to major highways/the airport, so if you have a car, there is not a single place that's too far away.
Clarendon is a lovely neighborhood with so much to offer. Many young families and young professionals, but also many loud, young college/ post college partiers. Area can be loud at times. Many great restaurants , walking distance to anything you need. Expensive rent but close to metro/ busses
Lyon village is a great place to live because it it really close to Clarendon with all of the night life and restaurants, but you don't have to deal with all the people and noise. It is very safe - as a female I never feel insecure when walking around at night alone.
The neighborhood has a very busy nightlife. It has several bars and lounges in the area, as well as a great selection of late-night eateries. During the day time, the area is very peaceful. Great places for brunch, shopping, and groceries.
Clarendon is a great neighborhood with lots of young adults. There are some good restaurants and it is a quick metro ride into the city. It is a little quieter than living in the city, but you still get a little bit of a city feel.
So much to do, so many restaurants, so many bars, great shopping, many cafes, four grocery stores within walking distance! Lots to do, but also quiet and has nice suburban feel. Can't say enough great things!
This is the place to be if you are a young professional in the DC area. The prices are way more affordable than DC and you have so much more space! There is always something fun to do and new people to meet!
