The Statesman's location very close to the law school is ideal for 1L students who like to study and work on campus and not at your apartment.

Building is old.

Expensive but the location is unbeatable and the building staff are very attentive/nice!

The building isn't the newest and there are some times when that shows, but overall it is a solid living space. The apartment has a lot of natural light, the neighbors aren't too noisy when it counts. The location in relation to the school is unbeatable. The staff are also very kind and helpful and my maintenance requests have been resolved very quickly.
I appreciate the amazon hub and 24 hour doorman that keeps track of larger packages. I will say the lack of restaurants and early closing times in the area in general can be a bummer at times.

The apartment is old and a bit outdated but the management is very responsive and you can't beat the location (and you pay for it)

My three favorite things about this residence are: 1) it is right on campus; 2) the management is friendly and very responsive to your needs; 3) it is lower in cost. The things that you should know are: it’s very noisy, the parking lot near it is expensive, and it’s less modern. The appliances are older. The management is currently updating the building, but not the appliances or the inside of the rooms.

I live in a decently sized apartment (~600 sq ft) that is decently priced and very conveniently located to the law school. The amenities are okay, but not great, and the neighborhood is very quiet, but not conveniently located to much as far as activities or nightlife or anything.

This apartment has a poor management team. It has been going on with 'projects' that deeply disturbs the enjoyment and peace of a home. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone, and will not live hear again myself. I had water leaking from ceiling, from the floor, a closet rack falling down etc.

Decent living. The walls can be a bit thin, so if your neighbors play loud music, generally you will here them (a good number of undergrads live here if you're living here as a grad student), but the building has a quiet policy from 10pm-8am, and I've found neighbors are generally willing to quiet down if they find out they're being too loud. I've found putting carpets on the wood floor and hanging paintings/wall coverings has helped insulate the room from too much noise.

The thing this place has going for it is the amount of space you'll be getting for the rent price. This is the best ratio of space-cost near George Washington University that's not a condo. The downside is you'll be living in an older building, but utilities are included, and you have a 24-hour doorman, so the building is secure, plus an Amazon locker by the loading dock.

It will cost more if you get a street-facing apartment, but I live in a studio facing the inner courtyard and even on a lower floor, I still get decent sunlight, plus I'm insulated from the street noise. There is a garage underneath, but it costs $9 per day if you get a monthly pass. There's also 2 Capital Bikeshare racks within 2 blocks of the building.
