Great Aparment

This is a really great apartment building. It is clean, and has everything you need. Although it is expensive, it is definitely one of the more affordable options for the newer apartment buildings in this areas. One thing I do not like about this building is that there is no roof top space. There is also only one community room, so it can be hard to host large get togethers.

Not great, not terrible, but a great location

Mixed feelings about the property. Overpriced, but what isn't in Arlington? The apartments are not modern or updated but are clean. The closets have amazing storage and shelves. However, there are no pantries which is an issue. My largest issue with the property is although it is pet-free, due to ESAs there are still animals. Which wouldn't be an issue but for the last 2 years our upstairs neighbor has been borderline neglecting her animal which barks and cries throughout all hours of the day. The building has done nothing more than issue a warning to them. Before resigning to a significant rent increase, we asked if we could switch to a new unit since the upstairs neighbors were also renewing. It is a great location, and as a corner unit we have amazing natural light. However, we are moving out because we'd like to be able to sleep or study without constant noise. Also the elevators keep breaking and have even dropped with people inside.

Quincy Plaza

The building feels safe and there is 24/7 front desk staff. Two bedroom apartments can get two parking spots. Every room has a walk in closet and every unit has at least one balcony. Unit is spacious and has a lot of natural light.

Quincy Plaza Review

I have been living in Quincy Plaza for 2 months (as of December 2021). The common areas are regularly cleaned (even the hallways on the apartment floors). There are a number of amenities, including a pool, game/event room, quiet rooms, business center (computers and printer), gym, BBQ area. There are 4 floors for resident parking with spacious spots (I drive an SUV and park next to another SUV with no problem). The building is in a good location, between two metro stops and close to grocery stores and a mall (Ballston Quarter). The building appears to be safe, with restricted key fob access for residents.

Quincy Plaza Review

I have lived at Quincy for both my 1L and 2L years and think it's really worth the price. The amenities are fantastic, the gym and outdoor pool have remained open during covid but with safety precautions. Quincy is located in Ballston but the walk to the law school is only 10 minutes. The Ballston Quarter which has great places to eat is only a 5 minute walk away, and so is the Virginia Square Starbucks. Before covid I used to go study at the Arlington Central Library which is located across the street from the building. I also enjoy using the Quincy Park which is a couple minutes walk away to play soccer and basketball in the summer.

I've personally enjoyed living by myself because it helps me to concentrate on my readings. My apartment is not that spacious but it is a good size for one person. I have a nice view of the Capital Building and a balcony that I use a lot in the warmer weather. I don't get that lonely either because a lot my law school friends live within about a 3 block radius from Quincy. Again it's on the steeper end of price, but I think the tradeoff at least for me from not having to accommodate a roommate is worth the price.

The management at Quincy is really great as well. The front desk is on call 24/7 and they email you when your packages arrive and you can go down for pickup. I've also filed one or two maintenance requests and they always have had someone respond in a timely manner.

I keep a car here and parking is about $75 extra per month. The garage is pretty tight but I think most apartment complexes in the area will be the same way. If you want to get into DC, the Virginia Square Metro is only a 5 minute walk away.

It's a great apartment.

I feel safe here. There are key fobs that scan residents into the building. It's always clean and the staff is friendly. The layout is perfect and spacious, one of the most spacious apartments I viewed. Parking is reasonable compared to other apartments in the area. I like that parking is assigned garage spaces. Guest parking sucks, but that's standard I think. Also, one of the only apartments I viewed that has most utilities included in the rent! $105 a month. Can't beat it!

Would Recommend, reasonable and well established

The building is a bit older, but well established with good management and continuous updates. The amenities are great and the metro is easily walkable. Maintenance is quick and we have not had any issues.

Convenient location, responsive staff, not cheap

I had a mostly positive experience living at Quincy Plaza. The units are spacious with large windows. The maintenance staff is very responsive and always resolved issues quickly. Perks of the building include package pick up at the front desk, 24/7 security, trash chutes on each floor, and onsite gym, pool, business center and community/game room. The location is convenient and equidistant to Ballston and Virginia Square metro stations. Short walk to Ballston Quarter Mall, Harris Teeter, Giant, CVS, and many restaurants, medical offices and gyms.

The units in Quincy Plaza are not cheap and you should expect your rent increase by about $50-$100 each year. The interiors are clean and functional but not very modern (carpet, outdated cabinets, vertical blinds). Since most (all?) of the units are carpeted, the building is quiet. While this is a non-smoking building, management does not enforce this and certain areas smell like smoke.

Quincy Plaza

Clean, modern luxury building in the heart of Ballston/Virginia Square. Rent includes all utilities except cable/internet. Parking in the garage under the building is only $50/month! Perfect for young professionals including medical residents. Only a 15 minute drive door-to-door to GW Hospital. Great location around lots of restaurants and easily accessible to I-66 and I-395/I-495. Have lived here 7 years and love it!

About Ballston

Living in the suburbs and still finding a vibrant city a few blocks away is what Ballston is all about. Reach the city with great ease, and find some great restaurants such as the Tutto Bene and the Caribbean Breeze, or maybe the Taste of Arlington Annual Street Fair. If that is not appealing enough...

Getting around Ballston

Ballston Reviews

49 reviews
I enjoy my neighbors and the common crowd around this area is young professionals it seems. We are close to george mason university and marymount college, so there is sometimes a younger crowd in the area as well. We do have some houses around the area that I have seen mainly have newly established families (i.e. little kids or new to the area) and I feel safe walking around my area at night.
I personally like being in Arlington. Everything is walkable and while it's not DC proper, it's very easy to get into the city via metro or a quick drive in. I've run to Georgetown in 20-30 minutes. There's stuff to do and there's everything you could need: gyms, grocery stores, shopping, restaurants, bars so close by. Ballston is a hub for transport so buses and the metro abound.
It can be a little noisy if you're too close to Wilson, Glebe or Fairfax roads, especially if you're right above the bus stop like I am, but nothing light background noise can't drown out; I sleep with a fan and I sleep like a baby. The public transport can't be beat, and it seems like a new restaurant opens every day. I'm interested in looking at houses in the area when I can afford to buy!
Ballston is by far one of the best areas of Arlington to live in. It has tons of access to bars, food, shopping, and a social scene, without being too loud of an area.
We are right across from Ballston Quarter which has a Union Market type of food court. The area is developing so quickly, very trendy and everything is within walking distance. Even though it's very walkable it does not feel as congested as DC.
I definitely feel that it's up and coming-- so much construction and many new restaurants and shops popping up! IT's very walkable. It's also pretty safe and it's close to highways, the Potomac, to DC, etc so the location is pretty great.
I love living in Ballston. I don’t have a car and never feel like I need one. Richmond Square is a block from the metro to take me into DC, and there are plenty of places to eat and things to do right here in Ballston.
Great spot for young people. There are tons of amazing restaurants and bars nearby that you can walk to. Also only a short metro ride to DC.
