Not good

It has no emenities. The parking is not secure. There is not a good package receiving system. The property manager isn’t responsive. The dryers are not powerful at all.

Circle Arms Apartment

Amazing price for the location.
Plus, it comes furnished and includes utilities in the price.
Managers stay on top of things - help with any issues that arise quickly.

Subpar but cheap

The apartment is very old and has clearly not been updated for decades. There are scuff marks on the walls and the landlord leaves old furniture in the hallways. The appliances are old but work. There is no in-unit washer and dryer. The apartment itself is very small and the living room is dark because the windows are inside the bedrooms.

With that said, $1,000 per person in Foggy Bottom is a crazy cheap apartment. It is safe, the property manager is very nice, and the water pressure is good. There is A/C and the apartment comes furnished (though they are not very nice furnishings). You can't beat how close it is to the Foggy Bottom metro and GW. The bedrooms are decently sized. Animals are allowed. The water pressure is good. There is a roof (it's nothing special but at least you can go up there). Utilities included. This is a great place to rest your head if you only care about money. If you need anything else, this place sucks but it's by no means run-down or gross. It's just old.

Close to the law school, and relatively inexpensive

My time at Circle Arms has been very helpful in my studies at GW Law. Only a 8-10 minute walk from the law school buildings, I do not have to use much time in transit from school. The price is pretty good for the location, and the building itself is very quiet due to the high number of professional people living here.

About Foggy Bottom

The naturally foggy surroundings of the area gives it its own unique name - Foggy Bottom. Unfortunately, its name does not highlight the excellent quality of music, dance and drama practiced in the neighborhood every single day. Lots of pretty row homes, walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, and my school. Lots of trees and a dog park near-by. Overall, very pretty and scenic to walk through, and also close to other neighborhoods and essential stores.
I like living in Foggy, it's easy to get to school but also is close to Georgetown, which is fun for food and shopping. The northern part of Foggy (near GW) is about 10 minute walk to Dupont too, which is great.
Short walk to Georgetown, West End, and Dupont Circle. Many restaurants nearby and close to metro so you can get to anywhere in the city conveniently.
Nice to be so close to school. Short walk from the mall and other tourist destinations. Bar/restaurant/night life scene leaves a lot to be desired.
It is really close to campus so a lot of GW folks live here! You can reach a lot of places on public transit.
Edge of Foggy Bottom bordering Georgetown - very safe and peaceful!
I personally enjoy the quietness of the neighborhood and its location within a close walking distance of campus, Georgetown, the water, and convenience/grocery stores. The neighborhood is also very safe, I am a woman in my early 20's and I have never felt unsafe walking home late at night near my apartment.
Foggy Bottom is a great place to live given the proximity to the law school. It's also within walking distance of Georgetown and Dupont Circle which are fun places to go out with friends and classmates. It's also has lots of bike racks for the Capital Bikeshare nearby, and the Foggy Bottom metro stop is a few blocks up the street.
