The biggest draw is the proximity to campus. Because I'm close enough to walk to class I don't have to pay for a parking pass on campus. The management has been pretty good about taking care of any issues. It's a very adequate apartment, but definitely more expensive than comparable apartments farther away from campus. You're paying for the location.

I'm married (no kids), living in a 2-bed apartment at Waldorf. My wife and I both bought indoor parking passes (added ~$100 total to our rent), but outdoor parking is free. We use one bedroom as an office/workspace. Our apartment is on the first floor, which is extremely convenient (although the views are much prettier on the higher floors).

Pros:
Lots of closet space, spacious bedrooms and living room, full bathroom has a bathtub-shower--huge advantage when you don't have to pay for water, and water temperature and pressure are always excellent.
It's a quiet building since most residents here are grad students (including many med/dent/nursing kids). Last year I never heard my neighbors except when they walked down the hall and opened their doors. And there's no major road outside, so traffic noise is minimal even on the first floor.
Electricity is the only utility to pay for besides internet/cable, and it's usually only $15-25/mo (TIP: although heating and AC are included, you'll pay for the electricity that each room's blower unit uses...turn your thermostat wherever you want it and just keep the fans on "low" to keep costs down).
Management is pretty responsive; they do tend to be blunt (which some reviewers have cited as "rude"), but so long as you're just a decent human being to them, they'll respect you and help you whenever you've got an issue with your apartment. They also do a good job with security and mail. Finally, the in-building repairman is excellent, friendly, and eager to please. Plus his kids are super cute.
FREE BAGELS!!!! Every weekday morning (except Thursday) you can get a bagel, coffee, and fruit. Or a donut. But I'm trying not to eat donuts every day now.
Proximity to school is excellent. You can't get an apartment closer to school that offers everything Waldorf does. Classes start at 8; if you leave your apartment by 7:45 and walk or by 7:50 and drive, you'll just make it on time door to door. (Better for M2s who don't have required IQ in the morning). If you're a walker, there's a shuttle bus that runs between the building and med school in the winter mornings. Even for hardcore walkers, that service is very much appreciated some days.

Cons:
It is an older building (not like there are many new buildings in CLE Hts...) so you'll likely have to call maintenance once or twice a year. Over two years, I had a few loose shower tiles, a chipped bathroom mirror, and a broken fridge. Everything was fixed quickly and without issue.
Heating/AC is included (big plus), but centrally controlled. AC is turned on on a predetermined day, regardless of if a huge heat wave strikes early (it's happened...get a fan, open the windows, and be glad that you know exactly when the AC is coming back on). Likewise, heat is turned on on a predetermined day. If you get cold easily (not me), get your blankets ready. Once the heat/AC is on, there's no problem whatsoever...there's just a week or two per year where you wish you had personal control over the building's air.
Kitchen is a touch small (galley kitchen). I've seen smaller, but I'm just used to more counter space.
No recycling other than flattened cardboard boxes.

While no one's going to say that Waldorf is the greatest apartment complex ever, I've had a good experience here.
PROS:
-Shuttle in the winter picks you up from the door and drops you off at school in the morning. (I LOVE THIS SHUTTLE.)
-Coffee and bagels every weekday morning. Coffee's gross, but it's free.
-Maintenance is OK. Not great, but OK.
-10-15 minute walk to school. Don't underestimate how important this is!
-So many of our classmates live here, which makes it really easy to hang out!
-Parking garage is available at $60/month.
CONS:
-management can be rude and give you a hard time, so be really polite to them
-you'll be jealous of classmates living in nicer houses for cheaper...until winter rolls around
-sometimes things break, but no more than any other place I've lived
-no shuttle in the afternoon :(

It is a great location, but the apartments are outdated and do not seem very well-kept. The people who work there are fine, but are not always helpful and nice.

Apartments are nicer than the building looks. Nice to have treadmills in building. Underground parking is good but expensive.

The apartment building is nice and is definitely worth the price if everything is functional. Unfortunately the apartment building is also old so many of the rooms have serious problems. My shower is broken and the management is pretty bad about getting things fixed.

I recommend living here for first year students, since it is so close to campus. Having said that, I do plan to move a little further out next year so I can pay less in rent. I've had a good experience here, but I know some others don't really like it. The only complaint I have is that maintenance can be pretty slow--you kind of have to ask 3 times to get anything done.

Waldorf Towers is a reasonable place to live if you value convenience (close to the medical school, UH, Little Italy, and University Circle). There is also a Shuttle Service (Jan. to Mar.) provided during the weekday mornings (no afternoon shuttle). Rent is high compared to what is available in the area, so I would recommend finding roommates and get a double or triple, if possible.

Note: This is an old apartment complex, so unexpected dealings with water leaks is a major possibility.

Great community - the management all know me by name and are very friendly. I get the most amenities compared to many other places, making the relative increased rent worth it for the most part. It is still an old building but fairly new compared to many other apartments in the area and the rooms are renovated as needed. Maintenance is responsive as well, though I haven't had any significant maintenance issues. Underground parking garage is great for Cleveland winters. Apartments are carpeted. Plenty of space for a 1 bedroom, except for a very small kitchen. Most amenities are in the apartment unit (e.g. I have a dishwasher, garbage disposal, AC/heat) except laundry, which is in the basement. It is very safe, all the entrances are locked and there is video surveillance in the garage and laundry room. Many other students and residents live here.

Waldorf Towers is a good starting place for students at Case Western Reserve University. It's cheaper to live there if you have a roommate than living on your own. However, rent has been going up a lot each year I've been living there. They only do yearly leasing so there isn't too much flexibility if you won't be finishing at the exact time your lease ends. The management that works in the building are overall nice and try to help when they can. The only thing I didn't like is that the higher up you live, the louder the wind is and if there is a really bad hurricane, there were times the ceiling would leak. I feel like the things that got fixed were mostly temporary fixes and not permanent. The plus side is that the building has good heating and AC and water/sewer is included in the rent.
