The Langston

I really like my actual apartment. My apartment has a washer/dryer in unit, nice appliances (including microwave), AC/heat system, large bathroom, nice size closet. I have a garage parking space, and access to study rooms and gym in the apartment complex. I enjoy being downtown and it is only 10-12 minutes away from the school. Highway access is less than 0.5 miles way. The only thing that bothers me is the guest parking. You have to request a guest parking pass and there is a limited to how many you can request each month. There is free street parking, but it fills up fast depending on time of day. So do not expect to have a lot of people over. In addition, the management team can be slow to respond sometimes.

Playhouse Square is among the largest theater districts in the country after Broadway. It is safe and separated from the hustle and bustle of crazier bar scenes. The RTA picks up directly in front of the building and drops off in front of the HEC.
I love living Downtown. It is a quick commute to CWRU’s campus. There are many restaurants and other places nearby in walking distance. Driving to another area isn’t bad either. For example, Lakewood is only a 12-15 min drive. There are many events always happening downtown, like sports games, which can be easily accessed by walking. The only issue is parking for guests. My apartment has a garage for residents but no guest parking. Finding a safe and secure parking spot downtown can be very hard, and once a spot is found there are often restrictions and or high prices.
Living downtown is a lot of fun. There is a lot to do here that I had not experienced much of before because it is a little difficult to come downtown if you live elsewhere in the city and are driving. Community is great and growing. I use the public transportation heavily as well.
I feel very safe here. Indoor and outdoor parking (between $120-150/month) but it is gated and extremely safe; cameras all around. Overall, it's a very young area and I always feel safe walking around.
Great location! Walking distance to tons of restaurants, bars, and all the stadiums. I haven't ever felt unsafe, but it is downtown in a large city.
Because of covid, I think the downtown scene has changed a lot since I’ve been here. Everyone says downtown Cleveland is pretty dangerous but I haven’t felt that way about the area immediately around the Bingham or the flats. The public square area and playhouse square can be a little sketchy at night and there are a good amount of homeless people there.
Stuff to do here and there. Major qualms is that occasionally it can feel a little unsafe due to the people walking around downtown. As a relatively large white male I could see others feeling even less safe in the same circumstances however I have no had any unsafe encounters since living down here. As mentioned in a previous review walking distance to Brown's stadium, East 4th, and numerous other bars and restaurants.
Great location, with a vibrant scene. Restaurants tend to be crowded when shows are in the theaters.
