Lodge at Southpoint

My husband and I love living at the Lodge. He attends UNC and I attend Campbell. We've found this to be a perfect spot right in the middle of both colleges. Though it is a bit more expensive, the property is beautiful and we enjoy how much space and value we get for the rent. Plus it's right around the corner from I-40 so if I time my drive right, my commute is relatively easy.

No complaints

I've never had a problem with my apartment or property management. The rent increase this year was rough, but I understand that to be true everywhere, so I can't hold my company solely responsible. I have a nice big apartment, and maintenance has always been quick to help out with any issues.

Great apartment if you want to leave campus

I'm the kind of person who needs to compartmentalize in order to survive - and that means having my home world separate from my school world. So I highly recommend living farther from campus, and Southpoint is a great area. The Lodge at Southpoint is convenient and well-kept, and the management team has been awesome.

Nice location, thin walls

This apartment is in a great location - we are right across the street from Target and a quarter mile down the road from Southpoint Mall and the American Tobacco Trail. However, the walls are extremely thin - we can hear our neighbors behind us and next to us. We had to move our bed to the other side of the room because we could hear the neighbor snoring. We also can hear the neighbors upstairs walking - it sounds like pounding and sometimes like they are in our apartment. The inside is very nice and spacious (especially for the price), and the appliances are nice/fine. However, we have had an issue with mold on our windowsills because the windows are super thin and not that high of quality. We have informed the complex of this problem and they have not been helpful in solving the problem.

The complex is about 2 minutes from the highway, and about 20 minutes from Duke.

I like the location a lot, and the layout/inside of the apartment. However, I would not recommend it due to the noise problems and issue with mold. (We put a post about the mold on NextDoor and it sounds like lots of people have had a similar problem).
