East End

Excellent Neighborhood for Proximity to Work, School, and Play
East End is a diverse community in the heart of Houston, TX. The neighborhood has been a growing and changing home to its residents since the early 20th century, with many of its homes dating back to the 1930s. East End is now known for its unique blend of cultures, history, and modern art and amenities.

Situated just east of Downtown Houston, East End offers great accessibility to its working residents and students. The University of Houston and Texas Southern University are only a short distance from East End, located southwest of the neighborhood. Both schools are approximately a 10-minute drive or a 20-minute bike ride. Rice University is also very close to home, about 8-9 miles southwest. Easily in driving and biking distance, East End also has excessive access to public transport to most of all of Houston.

For entertainment outside of work and school, Navigation Boulevard is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike, featuring a wide range of dining options, from traditional Tex-Mex to Vietnamese cuisine. The area also has a vibrant nightlife scene, with several bars and nightclubs located in the neighborhood.
Mason Park is a popular destination, offering a variety of recreational activities, including walking trails along the Brays Bayou, a playground, and a swimming pool. The Buffalo Bayou Trail also runs through the neighborhood, providing a scenic route for joggers and cyclists.

I love this neighborhood. There is a lot of space and more businesses are moving in. There's also a farmer's market every Sunday.

Not a place you want to hang out in at night. Very close to a lot of stuff, but at the same time if you want anything other than some basics at kroger you’re gonna drive at least 5-10 minutes.

It is not the safest area but the apartment is secluded from the outside area, so I feel fairly safe but I take precautions to make sure that I'm ok.
