Berkshire Ninth Street reviews and highlights
- on the pricier side
- new complex with great furnishings
- nice gym and clubhouse
- convenient location close to groceries, restaurants, and coffee shops
Quiet with nice finishings, but had a number of structure issues
I love to be close to my classmates but in a much quieter community.
Management has been very responsive to all of our inquiries requiring structural damages in the apartment. We could use more closet space in the one bedroom apartment.
We use the loft unit as office and guest bedroom and it has been very convenient.

Nicer Station Nine
You get what you pay for... While B9 is more expensive than S9, you get more amenities, like a bigger gym and a nicer clubhouse. The apartments are newer (hardwood floors, new appliances, Nest thermostats, etc...).

Very nice place in good area
Berkshire offers arguably the nicest apartments in Durham, in a great location that puts you within a two minute walk of Harris Teeter, restaurants, and Station Nine where most MBA students live. The down sides are increased price, and an inconsistent management team

Berkshire 9
Def on the pricey side for Durham, but beyond that it's a great place.

If you want to waste your money, live here!
Berkshire has been cutting costs enormously, reducing services and ignoring requests. While the management is very friendly, they are darn near useless when it comes to problem solving or actually addressing concerns. The apartments are very cheaply constructed and although they are very new, many things break or do not work correctly. As the building occupancy has increased, the infrastructure/management has proven insufficient to meet the needs of the community. Cable tv, internet, trash service (~100/mo) are required. Unless you can negotiate a very good deal, it's really not worth the money.

Nice but pricey
The complex is new and furnishings are great, but for Durham, it's at the top end of most budgets.

Cool place
Overall great place. It is fairly new. I think I am the second person to live in my unit. Great location to 24/7 groceries and restaurants and coffee shops. There are a couple of bars.
Although it is new, I can easily hear music and various noises from some neighbors. It is nothing crazy but can sometimes be a little annoying.

Nicer than Station Nine
Brand new and nicer than S9. Pricey, but great place.
