Berkshire Ninth provides convenient, modern apartments great for business school students. The location is very close to Duke and a convenient walk to necessities (e.g., grocery store, restaurants, bars, dry-cleaning). The apartments and amenities and up-to-date and kept in good condition, particularly the gym, which is one of the nicest I have seen at an apartment complex. The complex is good for those are married or living with significant other. Noise travels in the hallway and the floors are thin, which could make it difficult for those with children. Although the rent is on the high-end for Durham, the complex runs specials on certain apartments for Fuqua students, which makes it very affordable.

Moved in about a month ago and have had a great experience thus far! Move in was great and my apartment was incredibly clean. The management staff was very prepared for my move-in appointment and had everything set-up (and I even got a nice move in gift)!

Amazing location next to Harris Teeter, lots of restaurants, Duke hospital/campus. Management is very poor, they have no idea what they're doing. Looks very nice, but things tend to break often, fire alarm testing happens all the time and is extremely loud.

The complex has a strong contingent of business school students and is close to others at Station 9, making the location a great place to be.

Berkshire 9th is currently the most expensive apartment complex that MBAs can live in around Durham. But given how new the units are and how large they can be depending on your set up, its worth the extra cost. Location is ideal given the Harris Teeter next to the building and the density of students in the building or across the street in the much dirtier Station 9. High costs are probably what makes the building ideal for couples who can share a 1BR or 1BR plus loft and not sacrifice as much on cost as those people requiring a 2BR. Amenities overall are a whole lot nicer than Station 9, particularly the gym, which is great.

I love to be close to my classmates but in a much quieter community.

Management has been very responsive to all of our inquiries requiring structural damages in the apartment. We could use more closet space in the one bedroom apartment.

We use the loft unit as office and guest bedroom and it has been very convenient.

You get what you pay for... While B9 is more expensive than S9, you get more amenities, like a bigger gym and a nicer clubhouse. The apartments are newer (hardwood floors, new appliances, Nest thermostats, etc...).

Def on the pricey side for Durham, but beyond that it's a great place.

Berkshire offers arguably the nicest apartments in Durham, in a great location that puts you within a two minute walk of Harris Teeter, restaurants, and Station Nine where most MBA students live. The down sides are increased price, and an inconsistent management team

Overall great place. It is fairly new. I think I am the second person to live in my unit. Great location to 24/7 groceries and restaurants and coffee shops. There are a couple of bars.

Although it is new, I can easily hear music and various noises from some neighbors. It is nothing crazy but can sometimes be a little annoying.
