Burnham Pointe

Fantastic place. Modern, clean, convenient location (especially to 2 and 6 buses to get to campus). Great gym and common spaces. Good value, too.

Great Building

Great building. I have been living here for 3 years. Rent is kind of pricey for the age of the building. Too many pets, but I love our unit and huge balcony. They have updated the lobby which is very lovely. Overall, I love my unit, but with all the new buildings in the area, I think the prices should be a little lower.

Beautiful but at a price

This place is pretty expensive (that's why I'm moving) however it is an extremely beautiful apartment building, and the ameneties are great. However, there are many other buildings near by that offer the same rent but MUCH more extensive amenities. The management can be frustrating but the front door people and the repairs people are awesome.

Great units

Units in this building were built as condos, so they are well constructed. Every unit has a balcony which is great. Floor to ceiling windows. Package room keeps all packages organized, helpful for when you're away from home. Maintenance team is super friendly and quick to assist. Pets are allowed.

Pet Owners Paradise

I think just about everyone I know in the building has a pet and it makes for a very social and fun atmosphere! The new management (Crescent Heights) does a wonderful job planning events for both pet and non pet owners. The amenities get more use (in a good way) than any property I have ever lived at. I love living here!

Amazing Amenities

This building has great units. They are very spacious and nicely planned out. The staff is available 24.7 for any issues you need resolved. This building is also pet friendly which is a bonus and has a great area to take your pets outside. The conference room also comes in handy in case you need to hold an event.

Good Location

Good location, close to work and loop and grant park. The gym could be better, dog run could be better cleaned and I wish there was a pool. The residents get a little rowdy on the amenity floor sometimes when there are parties. Building maintenance and staff are good.

South Loop Reviews

As a single woman it was very important for me to live in an area that was safe given that the medical school schedule will require me to come home at night. Also it gives me great peace of mind to live in a building with doormen 24/7 in case anything were to happen. However, this has come at at a great cost.
Quite a number of nice bars and restaurants within walking distance. Groceries also (Target, Trader Joe's, and Whole Foods about 15 minutes by foot; small local shop about 3 mins). Bus stop to go to the university about 10 mins away (number 2, Hyde Park Express).
I really like South Loop. It is definitely an older crowd (young 30s and up) which suited me better - it has families and schools but still feels close to downtown which I really enjoy. Lots going on close by and lots of grocery stores too.
South Loop is quieter than the Loop, but you will get more space. Ideal for parents, people with partners that work remotely, or people looking for more space for their money. Outside of Bears games, has far fewer tourists to deal with than the Loop.
Across Michigan Ave from Grant Park. 10-minute walk from the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Adler Planetarium, and Soldier Field.
Roosevelt station is very close by and incredibly convenient if you don't mind taking the train or buses, but it is a transit hub, so expect increased numbers and variety of people.
Not far from the rest of the Loop, and you can still easily make your way north for study groups and social events.
I literally love living in the south loop. I can walk practically anywhere
less of a tourist trap than streeterville, still downtown atmosphere. There's a cozy little neighborhood full of townhouses that's nice for a walk.
Pros: Central to all major forms of transport, proximity to downtown, museums, and activities

Cons: Proximity to all major inbound train tracks increases the noise level. Proximity to Roosevelt Road which is high-traffic, treeless, and not bike-friendly.
It's a fine location. Not great, not horrible. I like a lot of other neighborhoods better but this is closer to school.
