Great apartment

Me and my wife really enjoy living in Evanston Place, is close to everything: campus, Global Hub (15 min), metra/subway station (8 min), downtown Evanston (5 min), Whole Foods (2 min). Amenities and floor plans are awesome

Practical and Basic

Pretty much everything about the apartment has turned out to be adequate for all our needs for a couple with one partner in grad school, no kids, and a dog ($500 deposit and $20/month). The staff is friendly and responsive. The gym is basic hotel style, but nice to have when it's cold. The pool and deck are basic, but have nice views of the Lake. Convenient garage with plenty of space and reserved parking spots for $90/spot. The location is a plus over other options for Kellogg for the price range. It's probably a good five minutes closer to the global hub than some of the other options and just as close to everything downtown. Only downsides are the appliances and kitchen are old and there are a lot of undergrads in the building living outside of a dorm for the first time. Most are respectful and good neighbors, but some are obnoxiously loud and throw parties during the week, smoke weed inside, etc. It's kind of a crap shoot depending on what floor you live on. Below the sixth floor, the halls are one-sided (garage is on the opposite side), so you're chances of a loud hall are less. Above the sixth floor, there are apartments on both sides of the hall.

Ok but overpriced.

Location is excellent. Overall the apartment is good, but I think it's overpriced. Common areas are not always clean and management sometimes takes a while to respond/requires a lot of follow up.

Great location. Management not that great.

Location is perfect. Close to campus and to bars, whole foods, restaurants.
Amenities are nice. Management is ok but I would expect more considering how much I pay for rent.

Great apartments but very expensive

I love my apartment: the hardwood floors, the kitchen, my amazing view, my balcony. But $2000 is a lot to pay with all the "mandatory" utilities like trash, etc that really add up, a pretty ineffective management team, and the fact that my apt shakes whenever a car drives through the bumps in the garage. The building is mostly undergrads who have their wealthy parents paying for it. Honestly, if I knew how much additional cost they tack onto your monthly bill for "utilities," I wouldn't have signed. My apartment is amazing but just doesn't seem to be totally worth it.

Living at Evanston Place

Great roofdeck and gym is never crowded, building feels more homey. Definitely a short walk to campus.

Overpriced!

The service there leaves a lot to be desired. As one of the most expensive places in Evanston you would expect a lot more. The building also can only do heat or AC, and once they switch to heat for the winter you can't get any air conditioning. Evanston weather can be a bit unpredictable so expect a few weeks of sweating! The company also has a ton of hidden fees, so something to be aware of when factoring in pricing. The apartment itself is great, hardwood floors and big windows.

Downtown Evanston has everything you need. E2 is walkable to campus, a Target, and plenty of restaurants, as well as Metra and L stations to get to Chicago. Right across the street is a Subway, a Thai restaurant, and a pizza place, plus there’s a 7-Eleven about a block away, so you’re very close to options if you need food in a pinch.
Close to downtown Evanston but a bit far from E2/the reserve. One of closest apartments to Trader Joes/Whole Foods/Jewel Osco while also being close to campus. Very close to the lake!
Downtown Evanston has everything you need from a downtown including grocery stores, restaurants, and convenience stores.
Downtown Evanston is great - plenty of great food within walking distance, Metra and El trains right nearby, a really nice place to be. Only downside is it's far from school and the only truly walkable grocery store is a Whole Foods, which can get expensive. Overall, wouldn't want to live elsewhere though.
Close to grocery stores and restaurants. Very easy access to Lake Michigan as well!
There isn't much to do here, but that's true pretty much everywhere in Evanston. We're in walking distance to all of "downtown" Evanston, so restaurants / fast food / subway, etc. It's a slightly longer walk than desired to Kellogg, but that's fine.
The apartment is central to downtown and is walking distance to most bars, restaurants, shops, beach, etc. Evanston is a bit of a sleepy town (especially during the pandemic...I've been told it was much more vibrant pre-pandemic).
I live just south of the main downtown area, and it's the perfect intersection of being close to the action but also a bit removed when you want some quiet. I like being a in a more residential pocket, so there is slightly less foot traffic and really nice areas to walk around with a dog, etc.
